From the Principal
It seems like winter has finally arrived! This week, students had a two-hour delay due to the weather, but they were able to come to school and take their mid-year diagnostic assessment on i-Ready. This assessment is designed to measure their progress towards achieving their academic growth goals and provides data on the skills that students need to improve. Since this is a mid-year assessment, some of the questions may cover skills that have not yet been taught. Students will also take an end-of-year diagnostic assessment later. Once all the testing is completed, we will send a copy of the mid-year diagnostic assessment to parents or guardians. We are excited to see how their hard work is paying off! When you see their scores, please celebrate their growth and encourage them to keep working hard!
Martin Luther King Junior Day
Martin Luther King Jr. was a remarkable leader and advocate for equality and justice during the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. He was born on January 15, 1929, and dedicated his life to fighting against racial discrimination. Dr. King is best known for his inspiring speeches, including the iconic "I Have a Dream" speech, where he eloquently shared his vision of a future where people are judged by their character rather than the color of their skin. His commitment to nonviolent protest and his passion for civil rights made a profound impact on American society. Dr. King's legacy continues to inspire us all to strive for a world built on love, understanding, and equality. As we celebrate his life and contributions, let us reflect on the values he championed and work together to create a more inclusive and harmonious community.

🌨️ Weather-Related Updates 🌨️
Weather Aware
Please make sure your child is well-prepared for the weather as it changes quickly. Some students are still coming to school with just a sweatshirt, but it is predicted to get bitterly cold next week. Regardless of whether they are riding a bus or walking, they should wear a jacket to keep themselves warm and have it in emergency situations. The nurse and guidance office have limited amounts of hats, gloves, coats, etc. available, so it is important that your child brings their own. If you need assistance with a coat or other resources for your child, please contact Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Adams (guidance), or Mrs. Ladouceur (Nurse) and they can put you in touch with additional resources.
Delays and Closings
Make sure your contact phone number is up to date in Skyward to receive phone calls regarding delays and closings.
Chrome Books
Chromebooks and chargers are being sent home daily until further notice. This is being done as a precaution should we have weather-related virtual days. Please keep the Chrome Book in a safe place and make sure students bring them back each day. These are school-owned devices and are intended for school use only. Please do not allow siblings or other people to use their Chromebooks.
Should we have a virtual learning day, please refer to the link below and on our website for the Virtual Instruction Learning Plan. Your child's teacher has reviewed this, and students should know how to access Google Meet. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions.
