Dear St. Angela Families,

Welcome back to school!

It is hard to believe that summer break is nearly over. We hope that you have all enjoyed some rest, relaxation, fun and adventure. Staff have been working hard this week preparing classrooms for the students’ arrival and we are all so excited to welcome everyone back to school soon. We wanted to share some valuable information with you before the first day of school:

· The first full day of classes for students in Grades 1 - 6 is on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

To facilitate a smooth start for your child, please ensure the following:

- Please have your child bring lunch and their school supplies with them on this day. Please identify their supplies by indicating their name on all of their items and their backpack as well.

- Please do not park in the front of the main entrance or use this area as a drop off zone. The bus lane needs to remain free and clear for the buses. This area will be indicated with orange pylons.

-More specifics pertaining to the first day may be shared by the homeroom teachers as well.

School Hours for this year are as follows:

Monday - Wednesday, Friday: 8:05 - 2:45 pm

Thursdays - Early dismissal for all students 8:05 - 11:41 am

· Kindergarten students have staggered entry on Wednesday, September 2 and Thursday, September 3. Your child will only attend one of these dates for only 1.5 hours. Every family who registered their child in kindergarten will receive an email today indicating which day and time their child will attend for staggered entry. Small groupings are being created to provide the teacher and the education childhood educator time to get to know your child better before regular classes start on Friday, September 4, 2026. Please ensure you arrange for childcare for the rest of the morning and/or day on the staggered entry dates if needed.

Administration is still working on finalizing class lists this week, as there were several new teachers hired over the summer. As such, teachers will email families a homeroom welcome letter on Tuesday, September 1, to let you know which homeroom class your child has been assigned to.

· School supply lists can be found on our school website at: School Supply Lists - St. Angela Catholic Elementary School

· Our school office opens at 8:05 am on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Any bus transportation requests are handled through ECSD Transportation. Please see their website for more details: Transportation Information at Edmonton Catholic Schools

· There will be a Welcome Back Event and Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 3, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. We hope to see you there!

We are looking forward to another beautiful school year, learning and growing together.

Enjoy the rest of your summer break!
