FHS Students are Taking Advantage of Opportunities!

It has been a great start to the school year at Fairfield High School, and we are excited to see so many students taking advantage of opportunities to learn beyond the traditional classroom!

College Credit Opportunities
This term, 54 FHS students are enrolled in concurrent enrollment courses. These courses are taught right here at FHS while also allowing students to earn college credit. Current offerings include Introduction to Literature, Composition I, and Composition II.

In addition, 26 students are taking online courses through Indian Hills Community College (IHCC). Students who are enrolled in an online IHCC course and wish to drop their class must let Mrs. Steward know by 10:00 AM on September 14.

We are also excited to share that 54 FHS students are participating in Discovery Academies at IHCC, which is a record number for FHS! Students are exploring a wide variety of career pathways, including several that FHS students are taking advantage of for the first time:

  • Administrative Support/Computer Accounting
  • Interactive Media Technology
  • Criminal Justice
  • Diesel Technology
  • Robotics and Lasers
  • Emergency Medical Technician

AP Online Course Reminder
Students enrolled in an AP online course who wish to drop the class must let Mrs. Steward know by 10:00 AM on September 8.

Connecting Students to the Community
We are also proud to have 18 FHS students currently completing internships with Fairfield businesses. These experiences provide students with valuable opportunities to explore careers, develop workplace skills, and connect their classroom learning to the real world.

Welcome, New Trojans!
We have also welcomed 17 new students (and counting) to FHS this school year! We are excited to have them as part of our Trojan community and look forward to helping them feel right at home.

PSAT Information Coming Soon
Information regarding the October PSAT exam will be shared with 10th- and 11th-grade students and parents in the coming days. Be watching for additional details and registration information.

We are incredibly proud of the ways our students are challenging themselves, exploring their interests, earning college credit, gaining real-world experience, and preparing for life after high school.

We are excited to have Sriya Yammanur representing Fairfield High School through Leadership Fairfield this year! Sriya is an involved and dedicated student who demonstrates leadership both in and outside of the classroom.

At FHS, Sriya is a member of National Honor Society, FBLA, Key Club, and Varsity Tennis. Outside of school, she stays involved through the Interact Youth Rotary Club.

We are proud to have Sriya represent FHS in our community and look forward to seeing her grow as a leader throughout the year. We know she will be a wonderful ambassador for our school and our students!
