Milford Fire Museum

From the PATCH:

Where's the Milford Fire Division?

The Milford Fire Museum, a division of the Milford Historical Society, will be open on Sat., Sept.13 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at 71 Wheelers Farm Road, next to the North Side Fire Station 7.

This museum represents 45 years of work during which former Milford Volunteer Firemen constructed a building and then over the years filled it with antique fire equipment, uniforms, photos, badges, early tools and thousands of other items. The display also includes an early fire engine and a newly restored apparatus used to transport hoses. The Milford Fire Department was founded in 1838, so there is plenty to see!

The opening of the Museum coincides with the Connecticut State Firefighters Association Convention (including EMS personnel) that will convene in Orange, CT on the same day. Although the Museum in Milford is open to all 12 noon to 6 p.m., convention participants are expected to visit between 3 to 6 p.m.

Museum admission is always free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Contact Bob Scukas for additional information at 203-410-5107.
