History Club Fundraiser
George Washington Carver discovered over 300 uses for peanuts including foods and cosmetics! His research helped Southern farmers after the boll weevil destroyed cotton by promoting peanuts as a profitable and versatile alternative crop that could also enrich the soil!
The History Club has partnered with Medders Family Farm out of Montevallo, AL to sell peanut butter, honey, and chocolate covered peanut butter hearts for Valentines Day! Each peanut butter heart is 3oz and comes in milk chocolate or white chocolate. We will deliver these to recipients in 1st period on 2/13! Peanut butter is all natural, gluten free, has no added sweeteners, and no artificial ingredients or preservatives. The unsweetened peanut butter is keto and diabetic friendly! Peanut butter comes in 8oz jars, smooth or crunchy, and in various flavors!
We are also selling 4pk and 6pk gift sets that are 4oz jars of peanut butter.
Lastly, we are selling 1.5 pound jars of honey!
Tons of options, but all proceeds earned will go towards the charter fees for a Rho Kappa Honor Society!
The fundraiser ends on Friday January 30th in order to get the peanut butter hearts ordered and here by the 13th.
Upcoming Events
Save the Date!
HTHS Sadie Hawkins Dance will be held Saturday, January 24th and tickets are on sale now on Go Fan! The PTSO is excited about another fantastic fundraiser. The dance is in the HTHS lunchroom from 7:00 pm-10:00 pm. You must be a HTHS student to attend and your Go Fan ticket on your phone is your ticket. You can buy your date’s ticket but you must provide their name. Once the student has entered the dance, they cannot leave and re-enter. It is called Sadie’s, so traditionally the girls ask the boys to the dance, but boys can definitely ask girls to the dance! It is semi-formal. Waters and a light dessert will be served during the dance. Students need to eat before they arrive at the dance!
Summer Science Program for Students
Are you a high school junior highly motivated in STEM? If so, consider a meeting for SSP on January 29th at 7:40 AM in Mrs. Dimler's room (M306) to learn more about the summer research program!
