Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School
May 18, 2026 | EMBRACE THE JOURNEY | QTR. 4 | Week 8
A message from me...
Good Afternoon!
As we get closer to the end of the school year, I know many of our students are starting to “count down” the days until summer. I understand that feeling completely. My grandma used to say to me, “Mikey, a watched pot never boils.” I think the end of the school year can feel a little like that. When we focus only on the last day, the days leading up to it can feel even longer.
I am encouraging everyone to stay focused on finishing well. There is still meaningful learning to do, commitments to honor, and opportunities to make good choices. When we stay engaged in the work and routines in front of us, the final stretch tends to go more smoothly.
There are ways to help your student: reinforce attendance, preparing and completing assignments, and making positive decisions each day. The end of the year is exciting, but it is also a time when students can sometimes let their guard down. A steady reminder from us all can make a big difference!
We are proud of our students and grateful for your partnership. If we all keep our focus on finishing strong, we will look up soon enough and summer will be here.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mike
Student Safety
In light of recent swatting incidents and threat calls occurring both nationwide and within our own district, we reiterate that Dublin Jerome High School, in daily practice, operates in a Secure status. Our building doors are locked, and we maintain monitored entry at all times through our Reception Office to ensure we know exactly who is entering the building.
Credibility: Every threat will be investigated as credible until it has been definitively proven otherwise. We do not take chances with the safety of our school community.
Response Team: The investigation will be a coordinated, immediate effort involving School Administration, the Dublin Police Department, and our School Security Monitors.
Timeliness: We are committed to conducting these investigations in a timely manner to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of everyone on campus.
Communication: Should there be an immediate threat to the building, an announcement will be made promptly using a chosen means of communication that fits the incident to ensure everyone is informed and can take the necessary SRP actions. Please be aware that if a threat is found to be non-credible and there is no immediate danger, our communication regarding the incident may be sent after the situation has been resolved.
Thank you for your continued vigilance and for everything you do to keep Dublin Jerome a safe environment for learning. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
As always: See Something, Say Something.
