Superior High School 2024/25 Dates
This document is a good resource for trying to plan ahead. We are plugging in dates as we hear of them. This is subject to change, but want to keep you all in the loop.
Admin Update - PBIS at SHS
PBIS (positive behavior interventions and supports) is a system that focuses on reinforcing positive behavior by providing clear expectations to students and teaching them what those expectations look like in action. PBIS provides meaningful incentives for students when they are showing expected behavior and provides reteaching to students who may need more support in understanding how to show expected behavior throughout the building.
Our three core beliefs are work, respect, and belong. We have conversations about these values throughout our building. We explain what it looks like to work, respect, and belong as a student in each area of our school and encourage students to show work, respect, and belong by creating incentives.
For the month of September, our focus was on attendance (kids in seats on time every day). Staff had conversations with students about the importance of being to class on time each day. At the end of the month, staff recognized students who were consistently showing this expectation. These students were able to draw for prizes from our Food Services department, and one lucky student won a Spartan blanket at our homecoming kick-off assembly.
We encourage you to use similar language and systems to teach expectations, however you're able.
Mr. Matt Amerson
Superior High School Assistant Principal

If you need assistance with the fee associated with the background check, please email leann.egnash@superior.k12.wi.us and she can help you. We do not want this fee to deter you from making a positive difference at our school. You can specify in your application if you want it to include multiple schools within our district. This check is valid for one year from the date it is complete.

Thank you for helping our Spartans make fun and safe memories of their time at SHS.

Club Support
We are really excited to get Student Club time up and running starting next week. During advisory, students were able to look through a long list of options and pick something that they were interested in being a part of. Student Clubs will happen every Tuesday during Advisory class. This time will give students the opportunity to get involved with something they're interested in, and to meet like minded students who they may not have met otherwise. Ask your student which Club they signed up for.
Here are some Clubs that could use support:
Jewelry Making - Looking for donations of old or broken jewelry, keys, beads, or other household items that can be turned into jewelry. Students can drop donations off with Ms. Stubbe in Room 2114.
Lego Club - Seeking any lego donations. If your kids don't play with them anymore and you want to clean out the closets at home, Lego Club will put them to good use. Please have your student drop off these donations with Ms. Moore in Room 2150.
Performing Arts
SHS Orchestra spent the day connecting and making music with SMS Orchestra yesterday at the School Forest.

Spartan Girls Golf Playoff Results
On Wednesday, Spartan golfers headed to Hudson for WIAA Regionals and came out as an honorable 5th. All Spartans battled tough pins, high winds, lightning fast greens, numerous huge deep bunkers, punishing fescue, and didn’t complain or make any excuses. They never quit and they played smart and grinded. They finished ahead of some teams with amazing history like New Richmond, River Falls, Eau Claire Memorial and Eau Claire North. It was a SPARTAN STRONG season! Senior Brynn Johnson qualifies for sectionals as the top scorer outside the top four teams with a stellar 91. She will compete in Tomah on Monday. Go Spartans!
Good Luck Spartan Tennis!
Our Spartan Tennis athletes start WIAA playoffs in Eau Claire this Monday! Wish them well as they compete on the courts!
