Good Morning E.L.M. Families,

Happy Friday! We will have a visit with our friendly, Savoy volunteer firefighters this morning. We will begin with a fire drill and then participate in learning all about fire safety and the important work that firefighters do to keep us safe. It will be a chilly morning and we will be outside for a few hours, so please remind your student to dress for the weather.

News, Updates & Reminders:

* The NBSU Joint Committee meeting will be on Monday evening at 6:00pm at Abbott Memorial School in Florida. As always you are welcome and encouraged to attend. The agenda is attached below.

* Students in PreK-2 will attend a field trip to IOKA Farm in Hancock on Friday, Oct. 27th. Permission slips will be sent home next week. This cost of this field trip will be supported by the PTG.

* Gr. 3-6 Families - A permission form packet for a field trip to Manice Education Center was sent home this week. Please complete all portions of the packet and return as soon as possible. This trip will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 31st. Thank you.

* Classroom Halloween parties will take place on Friday, Oct. 27th, in the afternoon. Students are welcome to bring their costumes to school and will change into them when the parties begin. We will be providing all refreshments for the parties. If you would like to send in any goodie bags, you are welcome to do so, and they will be sent home with students at the end of the day. Thank you.

* Arleigh Cooper is inviting all ski families to the next fundraising meeting. Fundraising will begin on Nov. 1 for this coming ski season. The information to join the meeting is below.

Planning Ahead:

* Tuesday, Nov. 7th is a county-wide professional development day for teachers. School will be closed on that day. School will also be closed on Friday, Nov. 10th in observance of Veteran's Day.

PTG & Loop Race Updates & Reminders:

* The PTG is sponsoring a school store for school apparel. If you're interested in making a purchase the link is below. A portion of the sale will be given back to our PTG as a fundraiser. Thank you for your support. The store will close on Oct. 31st, with anticipated delivery around the end of November.

Health & Safety:

* Last Friday our staff took part in a Reunification Drill. Our reunification location is the Savoy Town Hall. In the event that we ever have to evacuate the building, we will transport all students and staff to that location, at which time, we would go through the reunification process. Please contact my office if you ever have any questions about our school safety and reunification process. Thank you.
