Judsona Chea
Name: Judsona Chea
Parents: Ellen and Judson Chea
Siblings: Jason, Judson Jr., Jusline (11th grade) and Zunell (3rd grade)
Plans after high school: I plan on attending a community college then transferring to University of Minnesota where I plan to major in something technology related.
Most Memorable STMA Moment: For me it definitely competing in the State Track Meet my Sophomore year. The feeling of accomplishment while standing on the podium after placing 6th in the state. I was able to set a PR on my first jump and was both shocked and excited
Teacher Who Has Impacted Me: Ms. Ness-Deden has always been there to support me. She has always comforted me and I never felt judgement when I was going through hard times. She was the first teacher I went to see at the start of the year to share stories about our summer and hear about hers.
I Love STMA Because: I love STMA because of the opportunities and experiences that I have had. I moved here in 2nd grade and had I stayed at my former school, I would not have had the opportunities to take the classes that have formed who I am today. I am happy my mom choose to move us to STMA.
Jonathan Cavanaugh
Name: Jonathan Cavanaugh

Plans after high school: I plan to work for the Local 49 utilizing heavy equipment. I will work on a skid steer and/or roller to start, and eventually run an excavator.
Most Memorable STMA Moment: My most memorable STMA moments are from being a part of the Trap Team. I have become a better shooter thanks to the team. Being part of the team has been so rewarding.
Teacher Who Has Impacted Me: I would say the teacher that has impacted me the most has been Mr. Steve. He is understanding and his classes are always enjoyable.
I Love STMA Because: I love STMA because it has provided me with a great education and environment. It has given me a great path to my future.

Welcome back STMA families, we are so excited to have you back in the building and see your smiling faces. STMA Counselors are here to help all students with their academic, personal/social, and career planning needs. We are divided by student last name and will follow each student all four years. This year we welcomed two awesome counselors to our team, Ms. Silbernagel and Mrs.Schmidt. They both come to us with many years experience and are great additions to our STMA family. You will receive details on this location after signing up.
College Knowledge Month
Free College Applications in October! College Knowledge Month is a statewide initiative with the goal of providing every graduating high school senior with the preparation, opportunity, and support needed to apply to college. Many Minnesota postsecondary institutions waive application fees during College Knowledge Month. The list of colleges can be found here.
Financial Aid
The FAFSA- Free Application For Federal Student Aid is getting a significant overhaul and will not be available until December. All seniors planning to attend post secondary education should apply. A series of virtual college aid events are available free at Ready Set FAFSA to learn more about your aid application and options.
College Visits
The Counseling office will host various admission representative visits throughout the school year during SNAP. See representative schedule here.
A MN Virtual College Fair for all students! The counselors encourage students in all grades to visit https://www.strivescan.com/minnesota/ to explore college opportunities between October 6-7th. This is an excellent resource to learn more about post high school options!
The National College Fair is returning to an in person event October 4-5th. Students looking for out of state schools can review the NACAC website for more information (https://www.nacacattend.org/23Minnesota)
How to request an official and unofficial transcript
To send or view transcripts we use an electronic delivery system called Parchment. To begin the transcript ordering process you must first create an account through Parchment. Here is the link, which can also be found on the Guidance Office web page under transcripts:
http://www.parchment.com/u/registration/15103/account
***DO NOT use your student issued email when setting up your Parchment account. It is best to use your personal email account since you will no longer have access to your school account after you graduate from STMA.
For official transcripts choose the College, NCAA and/or the Common Application and send the transcript directly to the institute .
Unofficial transcripts can now be found in the documents tab in ParentVUE and StudentVUE.
Transcripts both official and unofficial are released daily during school hours.
Making an appointment to see your counselor
Students and families can book an appointment online to see their assigned counselor. Students have access throughout the building to scan a QR code leading right to their counselors booking page. Links to book counseling appointments can also be found at our counseling webpage.

Meet SRO Henre
STMA High School values our strong partnership with Wright County Law Enforcement and are fortunate to work with Deputy Austin Henre. Deputy Henre is exceptional in his role and we wanted to provide an opportunity for our community families to get to know him. Please find information about our SRO included below.
I started my law enforcement career in 2010 working at the Annandale Police Department. I was primarily a Patrol Officer working overnight hours for about 4 years. I then joined the Wright County Sheriff's Office in 2015. I started my career at WCSO as a Patrol Deputy, primarily working in the northwest area of Wright County. I also had roles as a Field Training Officer and Recreational Services Deputy. I began as a School Resource Officer (SRO) in 2021 and this is my 3rd year in this role totaling 13 years in law enforcement.
My favorite part about being an SRO is being able to develop relationships with youth, staff, and parents along with ensuring a safe environment for all. Having daily interactions with students and being a positive influence is something I enjoy every day.
My favorite part of the STMA community is the connection it provides in all aspects. Investing my career here to work with youth and the community is truly rewarding. I am grateful to be part of "Excellence is our Tradition" here at STMA. Go Knights!

PROCEDURE FOR EXCUSING AN ABSENCE
If a student is absent from school, parents are requested to call the absence in prior to 8:30 a.m. (763-497-2192) and follow instructions on voicemail. If an absence is not reported by phone, students are required to return to school with a note. This procedure is necessary to keep school attendance records timely and accurate. Absences not verified within three school days will be recorded as unexcused. Students who have been absent from school will not be admitted to class without a “pink admit slip.”
Students at school who are not feeling well, must go to the nurse’s office prior to calling a parent to be released. The nurse will confirm the illness and communicate with the parent. Falsified notes and phone calls: If a student falsifies a note or a phone call to excuse an absence, they may receive a 1-3 day suspension.
