Good Evening Mustang Families,

As we prepare for another exciting week at McCullough Middle School, we want to thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to helping our students succeed! Each day, our Mustangs are growing as learners, leaders, and champions, and we are proud of the progress we are making together. Tomorrow is McCullough Monday, and we encourage all students and staff to show their Mustang pride by wearing their McCullough gear or school colors—red, black, white, and gray! Let's start the week strong by filling our hallways with Mustang spirit!

As we continue through the first marking period, we encourage families to stay connected by regularly checking Infinite Campus, having conversations with their students about academic progress, and reinforcing the importance of positive behavior and daily attendance. Remember, our attendance goal is 95% for every student, and every school day counts! Please take a few moments to review this week's Family Update for important announcements, upcoming events, and opportunities to stay involved in our Mustang community.

Student Council Elections Are This Week!

It's election week at McCullough Middle School! This week, our Mustangs will have the opportunity to make their voices heard as we hold Student Council elections for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. We are excited to see our students demonstrate leadership, school spirit, and a commitment to making McCullough an even better place to learn and grow. We encourage all students to participate in the election process and support their fellow Mustangs as they step up to lead. Every championship team needs strong leaders!

Backpack Program

At McCullough, we are committed to supporting our students both inside and outside of the classroom. Through our Weekend Backpack Program, participating students receive a bag of food items to take home each week to help provide additional support over the weekend. Families who would like their student to participate are encouraged to contact Mr. James Thomas, our Communities In Schools Site Coordinator, at James.Thomas@colonial.k12.de.us or 302-429-4000. Participation is confidential, and our goal is to ensure that every Mustang has the support they need to return to school each week ready to learn and thrive.

Shop Talk with the Alpha's

We are excited to kick off McCullough Shop Talk with the Alphas, a mentoring opportunity for our male students in grades 6–8! Our first session will be held this Thursday, October 15th. Families interested in having their student participate should return the permission slip as soon as possible or use the link provided. Please see the information below for additional details!

Let's have an amazing week as a school community, and remember MUSTANGS RUN TOGETHER!

Sincerely,
