Hello Falcon Families!

October was filled with lots of awareness! From Domestic Violence Awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, and Unity Day, our Falcons made sure to stand in solidarity against issues that challenge our humanity. In addition, we stood against drugs during Red Ribbon Week with creative themes to keep us all engaged. Our first Falcon Family Fun Night and our first Sankofa family meetings were also well a great success! Thank you to all of our students, staff, and families for all that you do to make Lindsey a special place to be!

At the beginning of November, there will be no school for students on Monday, November 2nd. It is a Pupil Free Day that will be dedicated to our staff professional development. Our Language Arts department will host Falcon Family Fun Night on November 5th. There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day. Our ELAC meeting will be held on November 9th, and our School Site Council will be hled on November 17th. Boys Basketball season will also begin this month. Thanksgiving Break will be from November 23rd through the 27th. Please see our November calendar below.

8th Grade parents, the High School Choice window opens on Wednesday, November 4th. Be sure to complete the application for your child's high school pathway of choice. The window will close on Friday, December 11th. If you need assistance, please contact our counselor, Mrs. Ruezga at cruezga@lbschools.net.

English Language Advisory Council (ELAC) Meeting - Monday, November 9th @ 8:15 AM

If you are the parent of an English Learner (EL), please join our ELAC committee on Monday, November 9th at 8:15 AM in Room 108. We have fun while getting familiar with ways to support our EL students.

School Site Council (SSC) Meeting on Tuesday, November 17th at 3 PM

Our SSC meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at 3 PM in Room 108. We will discuss our current SPSA and safety protocols. It is a public meeting and all are welcomed.

November Title I Updates: Saturday School - Attendance Intervention & Academic Support

We are excited to announce that Perry Lindsey Academy received additional Title I funding in October 2026 to launch our Saturday School program! Beginning Saturday, November 7, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, students will have an opportunity to receive additional academic support while improving their attendance. All students are welcome to participate, but we especially encourage students who are at risk of chronic absenteeism or need extra academic assistance to attend. As an added benefit, one day of Saturday School may recover one full day of absence for attendance recovery purposes, in accordance with district guidelines. We encourage families to take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen academic skills, build positive attendance habits, and help every Falcon soar toward success!
