September is here! September is here!

The calendar has turned to a new month and we are moving ahead with lots of great things at MPMS. This week your student will begin taking the NWEA, an evidence based assessment that students take 3 times per year in ELA and Math which helps us better understand their strengths and needs. ELA will go first, then students will be assessed in Math next week. All students need to come with a charged Chromebook and their willingness to give their best effort. Students will also begin our district's social-emotional curriculum, Second Step; more information on that below.

We 💙 A Clean School! We 💙 A Clean School!

In an effort to keep building carpet, furniture and technology in excellent condition and due to an increase in the number of students with significant/severe food allergies, we are moving to water only in classrooms.

Students may still take advantage of our free second chance breakfast, provided by the school during 1st and 2nd hour, and eat in the classroom. There may also be times that teachers provide things as part of a lesson, celebration, etc. Students who bring additional food or beverage from home will need to store it in their locker until lunch time, where it can be consumed and disposed of in the cafeteria.

MPMS Accelerated Math Program and MPMS French Students Attendance on Days with an Irregular Schedule

For Elementary Students Attending MPMS

  • These students WILL NOT attend on most days that alter the daily schedule, including delay days, half days, and days where MPMS students start with first hour. One issue is that there may not be a bus available to transport them back to their elementary schools. Another issue on delay days is that they will be finished with their MPMS math class long before their elementary start time.

  • The only exception to this rule will be days where they will be taking their trimester exams. They will indeed attend on exam days, even with the change in schedule.

For MPMS Students Attending MPHS

  • These students WILL NOT attend on delay days, half days, and all other irregular days unless otherwise instructed by their MPHS Math/French teacher.
