Upcoming Field Trip! Upcoming Field Trip!

We are excited to be visiting Billings Farm for the day on Thursday, December 7th. We will be attending the "Children on Hill Farms" program where our students will experience a day in the life of a child in a 19th century farming family. We'll play old-fashioned games, join in on chores, and investigate how life was different from Vermont today. We will leave school at approximately 9:10 AM and return by 2PM. Kids can bring a lunch or will have the opportunity to sign up for a packed school lunch to go. We have very limited opportunities for chaperones on this trip as space in the farmhouses is quite limited: if you are interested in chaperoning, please reach out to shannonm@mpsvt.org.

RVS Important to Remember RVS Important to Remember

  • Please send appropriate winter gear as temps are getting colder and the playground is now covered in snow - all students are outside for at least 30 minutes per day, often more. If you are in need of any winter gear for your child, please contact Tina or Shannon!
  • School will close for winter break following a half day (12:15 dismissal) on 12/22. School will reopen on Tuesday, January 2nd.
  • The Dental Van is visiting on 12/15: if you would like your child to visit, please email Nurse Dot at dorothymartin@mpsvt.org to sign them up.

Still seeking photos of "Kids Caught Reading!" Still seeking photos of "Kids Caught Reading!"

We are still seeking photos for our new front hallway photo collage: many students have been reading at home and school, and the culture of literacy is building up steam at RVS! Our new display will feature "kids caught reading" around the school and at home. If your kiddo is okay with it, snap a photo of them reading anywhere and send it our way to highlight at shannonm@mpsvt.org.

MRPS PIE Family Support Fund - Please Donate or Share! MRPS PIE Family Support Fund - Please Donate or Share!

Every year, the MRPS PIE community raises money to directly support families in the Montpelier Roxbury School District. This is a meaningful way for neighbors to support neighbors and to share the love during the cold days ahead.

Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 by December 8th! If you can help, please donate here. And consider sharing this page - on social media, email, or any way you can! You might share with friends and family who live out of state, as our community has been supporting one another throughout the flood recovery, and while the need is greater, the resources may be depleting.
