Continuing to Strengthen our School/Family Relationship

When I was in HS, I played football and we had a game vs Waldron. When I got off the bus at Waldron, I was truly intimidated. The parking lot was full, the stands were full, there were people lined up all along the fences, and the student section was awesome! Let's just say, we lost the game.
I would love to see Waldron back to that. For us to get there, it is going to take all of us; school, families, and community.
To get there, we have a lot of work but please know that our staff and the students are up to that challenge.

I plan on sending out an order form next week for some school spirit wear. The shirts will say "Stronger Together" with our Spartan logo in the middle. We are not marking them up for any profit, we just want to see our awesome school flooded with sweet Spartan shirts.

Stronger Together

In another effort to support our goal or growing stronger together, we are bringing in a special guest speaker to talk to students. Brad Hurtig will be joining us soon and will be speaking to all of our students. Brad is also providing a FREE evening concert for our MS and HS students and their families the same evening. This evening concert is not affiliated or sponsored by the school but they want to something fun and extra for our students. Once we have it scheduled, we will fill you all in.

A little about Brad: From Amputee to All-State

Within months of losing both of his hands, Brad rejoined his high school football team. Within a year-and-a-half, Brad regained his starting linebacker position, led his team in tackles, and earned First-Team All-Ohio honors.

Brad’s story has commanded national attention. He has been featured by media outlets including ESPN and The New York Times. Most recently, he was featured as a TEDx speaker. Now Brad travels the country sharing his message of Find A Way.

Parent/Guardian Perception Survey **LAST WEEK**

PLEASE take the few minutes to complete this survey. We cannot "fix" what our community wants fixed if we don't get your input.

To better address the needs of our parents/guardians, I need to gather some input from all of you. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey for me. The input that you provide will be what I use to start addressing our school needs I truly appreciate your input and time. I will be closing this survey down on November 7th.

If you are late dropping off your student...

If you are late dropping off your student, after 8am, please be sure to drop them off at the front door. All other doors will be locked at 8am and with it getting so cold out, we can't have any students standing at the door waiting for someone to come let them in. Thank you for help with this.

When visiting the School...

We are so glad to have you visit and hope you feel welcomed in our building! To best ensure the safety of our students and staff and maintain the daily flow, we have a couple of important requests for visitors:

When you arrive, please use the front doors to check in and sign out at the main office.

Please do not leave your vehicle unattended in the front bus loop during the busy morning drop-off or afternoon dismissal times. We need to keep this lane clear for our buses to maneuver safely and efficiently.

Your cooperation with these small matters is greatly appreciated!

A note from the Science Lab:

A note from the Science Lab:

Miss Lemle appreciated the opportunity to meet with many parents and guardians during parent-teacher conferences. If you were unable to meet with Miss Lemle and have questions, please reach out to her via email Haley.Lemle@waldronspartans.org.

A friendly reminder that 7th and 8th grade students receive study guides before every test. Questions for the test are pulled directly from the student's study guides. If your child is scoring low on tests, they may be spending enough time studying outside of class.

In the pictures below
Pic 1: Gummy Worm Genetics - 7th grade has been learning about genetics and inherited traits. They demonstrated their knowledge by starting a "gummy worm farm" and showing what traits the gummy worm offspring would inherit from their parents.

Pic 2: Chocolate STEM- 8th grade was able to complete a lab activity provided by the JCISD. In this hands-on lesson, students learned about the history of Hershey's Chocolate and were challenged to create a conveyor belt to move a candy with a given amount of supplies. The students practiced teamwork and learned how candy is moved quickly and efficiently on a large scale. Did you know the Hershey's wrapper isn't brown? Ask your students about what color it actually is!
