Chamberlin Hill Highlights
May 2026
A Note from the Principal
Thet month of May always brings about a special kind of energy. The halls feel full of excitement, reflection, and anticipation as we begin to wrap up another wonderful school year together. It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of the 2025–2026 school year, but as we look back, there is so much to celebrate.
This month will be filled with many meaningful moments as we celebrate the hard work, growth, and memories made this year. From field day and classroom activities to end-of-year traditions, this month gives us a chance to enjoy the joy of learning while also honoring all that our students have accomplished. Please be sure to review the upcoming events so your family does not miss any of the special opportunities ahead.
This year, we are especially excited to celebrate our 5th grade students with a 5th Grade Family Picnic as they complete their elementary school journey. This is such an important milestone, and we look forward to recognizing their growth, friendships, accomplishments, and the many memories they have made at Chamberlin Hill before they take their next step to middle school.
May also gives us the opportunity to recognize the incredible teachers and staff who make Chamberlin Hill such a special place. Their care, dedication, and encouragement help our students grow every day. During Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, we celebrate the people who pour so much into our students and school community. Families are always welcome to join in by sending a note of thanks or sharing a kind word with a staff member who has made a difference.
As we move through these final weeks, thank you for your continued support, partnership, and encouragement. It has been a joy to watch our students learn, grow, and shine this year. As summer approaches, I hope your family finds time to read together, explore new interests, enjoy time outside, and continue nurturing curiosity in simple, meaningful ways.
Educationally yours,
Mrs. Zaciewski

Notes from the Office
Attendance
Our Chamberlin Hill Trojans finished April strong with excellent attendance across all grade levels! In April, Grade 3 and Grade 5 both averaged 97% attendance, and Grade 4 averaged 96%. Throughout the school year, our monthly attendance averages have remained steady, typically ranging between 94% and 97%. Thank you, families, for helping students arrive at school each day ready to learn, grow, and be part of our Chamberlin Hill community!

Transportation
If you need to change transportation for the day, you must call the office before 2:15 pm. Otherwise, we may not be able to get a message to the teacher and your student in time to make a change.
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Time is precious for us all but even more important is the safety of our children. Thank you for continuing to follow our procedures and helping us keep everyone safe and on schedule!
🚙 Please continue to use the designated car lines for both drop-off and pick-up. This ensures a smooth flow of traffic and keeps students safely away from moving vehicles. The West Parking Lot should not be utilized for drop off or pick up.
🚧 Students may not cross the staff parking lot or grass area between Yates Avenue and Chamberlin Hill. These areas are not monitored for student crossing and pose serious safety risks.
⏩ Morning Drop-Off Tip to Keep the Line Moving:
To help everyone get inside quickly and safely:
-
Pull all the way forward in the drop-off line before your child exits.
-
Students can safely exit your vehicle anywhere along the school's half-circle drive and use the sidewalk to reach the entry door.
-
The more students who unload at once, the faster our entire line moves!
Your cooperation and patience make a big difference each day. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe, efficient, and stress-free for everyone!

Welcome to Chamberlin Hill, Mrs. Imke!
We are looking forward to a fun and memorable 5th Grade Family Picnic as we celebrate our students completing elementary school! Families are welcome to spread out anywhere outdoors on school property, with the exception of the playground, and may bring a blanket, lawn chairs, or beach towels for seating. Parents and guardians will be responsible for their child during the picnic until students are checked back in with school staff. Between 11:50 and 12:10, students may be checked back in with staff at the playground. At the scheduled end time, all students must be on the playground and ready to line up with their class, so we appreciate everyone being prompt. Please note that the playground will be for students only. Families are not permitted on the playground. Please note, we will not be signing t-shirts during this event. We can’t wait to enjoy this special celebration together!

PaySchools
Now that we are into the second quarter of the school year, it’s a good time to check out the balance and notification settings on your family’s PaySchools (lunch & fees!) account, and make sure your Free/Reduced Lunch application is completed within PaySchools if you haven’t completed it already.
PaySchools does not automatically alert you to a low balance or negative balance on lunch accounts unless you activate that setting.
You can easily activate notifications, and also set your account to automatically replenish once it hits a threshold of your choosing.
As always, you can avoid any convenience fees for online payments by coming to the school and paying via check or cash to the building secretary. If you have any questions regarding meal accounts or PaySchools, please contact Kadie Lindsey, klindsey@findlaycityschools.org.
PBIS Update
Miss Sherick’s 4th grade class has claimed the most tokens so far this school year with an incredible total of 686. Miss Weidenhamer’s 5th grade class is close behind with 680, and Miss Ross’s 5th graders are currently in third place with 630 tokens. We cannot wait to see how many tokens our students earn by the end of the year! To celebrate their hard work and positive choices over this past month, students will enjoy extra recess, 3D-printed trinkets, and putt-putt golf from Anchored Sports at the end of the week.
We love recognizing our leaders for making Chamberlin Hill a respectful, responsible, and safe place to learn and grow!
