- Focus -

Greetings to the class 2022 and to the Warrior Nation,

Can you believe that we are entering into the second week of March already? Maybe it's just me, but time is flying by like airplanes over I-70! Speaking of airplanes, I am going to ask each of you to really Focus on the task at hand and on making good choices this week so that you don't get left behind like the ground under a plane taking off. Team, exceptional things are done by ordinary people who have extraordinary focus on a goal. What separates good from great is an unwavering focus on what you need to do or what needs to be done. It doesn't matter if we are talking about being the best student or athlete or musician or artist or trades person or whatever...it's all about zeroing in on your business and taking care of it to the best of your ability. Listen, we all get tired and loose our focus from time to time, but those who can get back on track quickly, without taking too much time off task, are the ones that continue leading the pack. I challenge each of you to really focus on whatever it is that you need to do this week and do it with all of your heart and all of your passion. You will feel great at the end of the week and be better prepared to take on the next challenge that awaits around the corner. I have confidence in each of you...Focus team and Let's Get It!!!

Have a super week and just be AWESOME!!!

WC-Strong!

Much Love,

Mr. Russell - Cohort Dean

Class of - 2022 -

Good morning Junior all-stars! I am excited about getting into this week and spending time with as many of you as I can get to this week. So this week's theme is Focus..."the center of attention, a point of concentration or a state of clear perception and understanding." A famous philosopher once said, "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new" - Socrates. What does that mean? It means take your energy and put it to forward use and not on trying to figure out what went wrong in the past. You have 5 school days this week to focus on getting the results that we are confident that you can achieve. Turn your assignments in...get to class on time...be willing to learn and make mistakes...and know that we are here to encourage you to keep taking small steps. No excuses, no breaks, no reason not to perform to the best of your ability. Decide WHAT you want, WHO you will be, and focus on HOW you need to get there. Then repeat...over and over! Your focus on your reality determines you overall destination! Let's get it in this week!

Reminder: Tutoring is back in session on Monday's and Thursday's. Come to the west café (Near the Freshman Academy) from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm and let's get it in!

Reminder: Please follow the school schedule so you don't miss any lessons and or opportunities to connect with your teachers!

- Never stop trying...

- Never stop believing...

- Never give up on yourself...

- Because you are enough...

Guess who Loves you?

Focus and lock it in 2022....

(Last names A-K) - Focus on ending the 3rd quarter of the game with the lead. Set yourself up for success now and leave everything on the court. Keep yourself from going into the 4th quarter of the game down on points (ie. credits, grades, GPA or scholarship opportunities). We don't want you get behind and get blown out because you can't keep up. You are the most important person on your roster, so dig deep and have faith in yourself and your abilities. Lean on your coaches (teachers, office staff and Administrators) as you would your coaches on a basketball team. Let's finish this semester like champions and celebrate 11 years of hard work together! Let's Go Team!!!

(Last names L-Z) - We're nearing the end of your junior year, which means the final quarter is right around the corner! As we rapidly approach the end of your high school career, it's important not to lose Focus on what you've been working toward. It's no secret that this year has been much more difficult than normal, and has created new obstacles for many of you that weren't there before. Don't forget to use your resources and rely on your support system to help you overcome these new obstacles. Here are some things to keep in mind as you work to finish out strong:

  • GEAR UP is hosting online tutoring 24/7 for Warren Central juniors. More information about how to sign in and/or sign up can be found at the following link: https://warren.instructure.com/courses/11615/pages/tutor-dot-com
  • If you have fallen behind in your classes, contact your teachers about why you are struggling. They want you to succeed, and will work with you to help find a solution. They may even know of some good resources to help you better understand the material.
  • The quickest way to raise your grade is by turning a 0 into anything but a 0. Work on getting those missing assignments completed and turned in.
  • Don't forget that your cohort team has your back. We're here to help if you have any issues.

Scheduling: The plan remains the same for this week. Both counselors are in pulling students out of US History classes for both in person and virtual meetings. If you do not have a US History class you will meet with your counselor virtually or at another appropriate time during the school day as classes and time allows.

(Click below to sign up for your 10 minute spot)

Ms. Reynolds will be available via Zoom from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM on Gold Days.

Mr. Howe will be available via Zoom from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM on Black Days.

Please remember to reach out to Mr. Fletcher with questions about SAT/ACT, fee waivers, scholarships, college applications, and all things related to preparing to continue your education. gfletche@warren.k12.in.us

Don't forget that we love you...

Don't forget that we're proud of you...

Most importantly, don't forget to love and be proud of yourself!

We LOVE you 2022...
