Hawthorne Brook Happenings
You belong here.
Dear Hawthorne Brook Families,
November is officially in full swing. I had the pleasure of meeting with every grade level today to explain the link between our monthly school pep rallies, and the importance of coming together as a community. Your children behaved beautifully in the auditorium (as they do in the gym during our pep rallies). With some of the grade levels I shared that their outstanding behavior in the auditorium and gymnasium shows me just how good they are capable of being; that they need to transfer the attention and excellence in those spaces to other areas of our building as well, notably the hallways and classrooms.
As the end of the first term approaches, I have encouraged our staff to hold students to high expectations. By this time in the year, students are well-versed in our classroom and hallway expectations. There is no reason for students to not meet those expectations.
For those students who do consistently meet expectations, we are also planning some opportunities to recognize their effort and hard work. Those opportunities were also shared with students today during our assemblies. If your child is interested in serving on my advisory council, they should check their school email on Monday to learn how to apply!
As always, we are grateful for your support and for the conversations you have with us and with your children. We are strongest as a community when we are working together.
Warmly,
Chantele Olmstead & Jason White

Cell phones/smartwatches/smartglasses are to be off and away for the day. Any student found with a personal device will have the device turned in to the main office. If this happens more than once, families will be asked to pick up the devices. The full text of the policy can be found here.

The end of the day is quite busy, with students transitioning between classes, going to lockers and returning to homeroom! If you need to dismiss your child for an appointment, please try to do so by 2:15. Otherwise, please make arrangements to pick your child up at parent pick up at 2:30.
