100 Years of Osseo Excellence!

#OsseoEXCELLENCE in all we do! We are grateful for the scholars, staff, family & community members who built our strong foundation. We are proud of our current scholars, staff, family & community members for their conscientious and reflective thinking that preserves the past as well as the innovative and courageous ideas focused on moving our #OsseoEXCELLENCE forward.

We are proud of the collective impact of our 100 years. We invite you to celebrate with us, at our Centennial Celebration on Friday, September 27th at Osseo Senior High. Join us for food trucks, lawn games, scholar-led school tours and community connections! Alumni will be introduced and special recognitions will be held at 5:30pm on the football field.

Osseo Senior High will host our annual Learning Conferences on Wednesday, September 11 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Join us at OSH for an in-person, interactive experience! We encourage all families that are interested to attend and walk through their scholar’s daily schedule. Families will have the opportunity to meet teachers, learn about course standards, class expectations, assessments and experience the classroom environment. Counselors and CRC staff will also be available! Multilingual assistants will be available to support families. Scholars are not expected to attend but are certainly welcome.

Congratulations to current Osseo Senior High School scholar Luke Scott and recent Osseo Senior High graduate Ty Swanson for their award winning work that was on display at the Minnesota State Fair. Scott placed first in the 11th grade wheel thrown ceramics category and Swanson placed second in the 12th grade wheel thrown ceramics category. The K-12 competition presents an annual exhibition of the work of students in 31 different categories. The works were displayed in the education building at the State Fair. Congrats to Luke & Ty for bringing their Excellence to the Twelve Best Days of Summer!

Our Marching Band continues to be great ambassadors of OSH. They were a featured band at the Minnesota State Fair on Friday, August 23rd and represented us well. They have been busy marching at parades this summer and fall; most recently the Osseo Lions Roar parade! Kudos to our marching band!

Our Link Crew Leaders have been hard at work welcoming freshman and other new scholars to the OSH community. They led our Orientation activities and continue to show conscientious leadership this school year, helping new Orioles navigate our maze of hallways, block scheduling and Advisory activities!

We closed out the first week of school with an all-school pep fest showcasing many class vs. class competitions. Many of our Activities and Clubs are underway - there truly is something for everyone at OSH! We encourage every scholar to get involved and help build our culture!

Osseo Senior High scholar-athletes, scholars, and advisors walked in the Osseo Lions Roar parade on Saturday, September 7th to kickoff our 100 Years of EXCELLENCE celebrations!

PSAT/NMSQT

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test for 11th graders. The test prepares students for the SAT and is the qualifying test for juniors to enter the National Merit Scholarship Competition for scholarship dollars. The PSAT will be offered to juniors on Tue, Oct 8, 2024. The cost of the exam is $18. Payment must be received to reserve a test. Deadline to register for the exam in the CRC is Friday, September 27. Visit the CRC with a check (made out to OSH) or cash to register for the exam.

COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE MONTH

Attention Seniors! October is COLLEGE KNOWLEDGE MONTH in Minnesota. Many state colleges offer the opportunity to apply without an application fee at some point during the month. Check here to see if the colleges you are interested in are waiving the application fee in October.

UPCOMING COLLEGE FAIR

Osseo Senior will host a College Fair on Wednesday, 10/30/2024 during all lunches. The colleges will be set up in the Main Gym, across the hall from the cafeteria, ready to answer questions and provide information about the programming and community they offer. Students are encouraged to pre-register via StriveScan (https://app.strivescan.com/students). If the Osseo Senior fair is not yet listed, please check back and register when it is available. Students will also have an opportunity to register the day before in Advisory.

AP EXAM REGISTRATION

If your student is taking an AP class this trimester, they have a window from NOW until NOVEMBER 1 to register to take the exam in May 2025. Registration for AP exams is a 2-Step Process outlined here. AP teachers will be walking students through the process in the next few weeks.
