WHS Annual Thematic Unit
As you will discover when you read the letter that I wrote to the children, this year's annual thematic unit is Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard & Florence Atwater. As always, it will be an exciting school-wide endeavor as we come together to read, learn, and explore concepts related to the storyline. This novel is fun, as well as very informative. We will be researching penguins, along with the distinctions between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. (For instance, despite the common misconception, penguins do not live at the North Pole!) Stay tuned for more information on how we will embrace this unit as the year unfolds!
