Welcome Back!

As July comes to a close and August begins, the return to school is on everyone's mind. We hope that your summer break has allowed you to go on trips, visit with friends and family, and spend time in the sun :) The MTES staff has had the opportunity to do all of those things, as well as prepare for our best year yet! Wednesday, August 10th: Student Dismissal forms due

Monday, August 15th: MTES Open House (grades 1-5), 5:00 to 7:00

Tuesday, August 16th and Wednesday August 17th: KG screening (all day)

Wednesday, August 17th: Students first day (grades 1 through 5)

Thursday, August 18th: KG Open House, 5:00 to 7:00

Monday, August 22nd and Tuesday, August 23rd: KG students first days

Wednesday, August 24th: All KG students attend

Thursday, August 25th: PTO meeting @ MTES Media Center, 4:30

Food Service: The Free Breakfast/Lunch option that Ohio schools participated in during the past 2 school years has expired. The school district will resume charging students for school breakfast and lunch. Families will need to apply for Free/Reduced lunch if they believe they qualify. For questions regarding our Food Service program, please contact Deanna Park at 740-335-3010.

Student Medication: Any student that will be taking medication at school (over-the-counter or prescription) will need to have proper documentation on file in the school clinic. In addition, parents will need to provide the medication directly to the school nurse. This can be done beginning on Thursday, August 11th and can take place any time during operational hours after that date. The school nurse will be present during Open House for this process as well.

"Excellent" Attendance: MTES has not recognized "perfect" attendance for the past 2 school years as a result of Covid-19 and its impact on student attendance. Beginning this year, we will be recognizing students with "Excellent" attendance on a quarterly basis. Excellent attendance can be earned by students missing 8 hours or less per quarter. More details on this award will be coming.

Honor Roll: MTES will be reinstating our "Honor Roll" for students in grades 3 through 5 that have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. It is very exciting to begin recognizing these achievements once again!

Student Schedules: To access your child's schedule for the upcoming school year, please click on the "Student Schedules - Progress Book" button below. For assistance, please contact the MT Central Office at 740-335-3010.

Student Arrival and Dismissal: Our Student Arrival and Dismissal processes have undergone some thorough changes/updates. The driving force behind these changes is to enhance our student safety measures at MTES. Please see the newsletter for all details regarding these changes, as well as to complete the REQUIRED Student Dismissal form.

Student Registration/Re-Registration: ALL MT students must be registered for the 2022-2023 school year. This process is completed through Final Forms, which can be accessed through the district website. In order for students to receive district issued devices, they must be registered.
