Dear Families

It has been another busy and positive week at Teddington School, and it has been wonderful to see students making the most of the opportunities available to them beyond the classroom.

A reminder to families about the importance of regular attendance. Every school day matters, and good attendance plays an important role in supporting studentsโ€™ learning, progress and wider development. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring that students attend school every day and arrive ready to learn.

If your child has an unavoidable appointment during the school day, or is too unwell to attend school, please complete our Student Absence Form, available on our website, by 08:30 on the day of the absence. This helps us to keep our attendance records accurate and ensure we know where students are throughout the school day.

It has also been lovely to see so many students attending our extra-curricular clubs this week. We offer a wide range of clubs and activities, alongside our extensive sports programme. If your child has not yet had the opportunity to get involved, please take a look at the clubs available on our website.

Well done to our Year 11 Geographers, who took part in their compulsory field trip to Bushy Park this week. These experiences provide an important opportunity for students to apply their classroom learning in the field and develop their geographical understanding.

We have also been delighted to see rehearsals for this yearโ€™s school production of Grease getting back underway. There is already lots of excitement building, and we are looking forward to seeing all the hard work come together during production week in early December.

Looking ahead to next week, our Year 8 students will be visiting Sky Studios, while our Year 11 students will take part in their Michele Miller exam revision workshop. This will be followed by a parent talk in the evening, providing families with useful information and guidance as students prepare for their GCSEs.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Kind regards

Paul Grills

Headteacher

We are delighted to share that the Teddington Soul Band will be starting the new school year with a special performance at The Exchange Theatre in Twickenham on Friday 16 October. Doors open at 7pm.

The Exchange is launching a new youth music event, giving young people the opportunity to perform on a professional stage alongside other young bands and performers. This will be the first event of its kind, and we would love to see as many of our families as possible there to support our students.

All proceeds from the event will go towards funding future Exchange Sessions, helping to provide more opportunities for young people to get involved in music and live performance.

We hope you can come along and support the Teddington Soul Band as they take to the stage!
