Dear AKChoice Families,

As we continue through the fall and make our way toward the end of Quarter 1, I want to share a few reminders with our families. First, OLS reimbursements are up and running, and we encourage families to begin submitting their reimbursement requests. When submitting, please take a moment to make sure all required documentation is included. Complete documentation helps our staff process requests efficiently and reduces the need to reach back out for additional information.

While we work to keep reimbursements moving, we also want to keep our students moving forward in their classes. Please continue checking in with your students, encouraging them to stay active in their courses, and making sure they are keeping up with their coursework. Consistent participation throughout the quarter makes a significant difference, and now is a great time to review progress, complete any outstanding work, and connect with teachers when additional support is needed.

Along with supporting our students academically, we want to continue building an AKChoice community where everyone feels welcomed and supported. Please remember to treat one another with respect, kindness, and care in all of our interactions. Whether we are communicating with teachers, staff, students, or other families, a little patience and understanding can go a long way.

Finally, I hope everyone has an opportunity to step away from the screen, get outside, and enjoy the beautiful fall weather while we have it. Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to support your students.

AKChoice Picture day will be October 1, 2026. Please visit inter-state.com/order using code 0571QKA to make individual orders.

All AKChoice students are invited to have their photo taken. School photos are good for a variety of reasons. Students who need transportation are able to utilize the City Mover Buses free with a student ID. Many local businesses will give discounts to students who have a valid ID. Also any high school student planning to attend dances or other activities at their neighborhood school will need a current school photo in StudentConnect.

Alpenglow Location: 9:00am - 11:00am

OceanView Location: 12:00pm - 2:00pm

New ASD regulations require verification that the person requesting reimbursement is the owner of the credit card used for the purchase. Verification needs to be provided for ALL credit card purchases. EVERY Time! This verification can be provided in one of two ways:

• A credit card statement showing the cardholder’s name and the last four digits of the credit card; or
• A photo of the back of the credit card showing the cardholder’s name and last four digits, with all other sensitive information redacted.

Examples of acceptable documentation are provided below.

Please be sure to redact all sensitive information that is not needed for verification.

Families you may now begin submitting reimbursements in OLS for academic purchases. All reimbursements from now until the end of the school year must be submitted within 60 days of purchase. For reimbursement guidelines and expectations please review our HANDBOOK.

Helpful Reminders:

• All receipts must be in PDF format and legible.
• Proof of payment is required. This would be the last 4 of credit card, cancelled check, etc. W/O proof we will ask for bank statements.
• Direct Deposit will help expedite your reimbursement. Please return to kanack_ann@asdk12.org
• Non-Academic purchases over 250.00 require advisor or principal approval. Approval Form
• Winter Sport Related Activities will only be reimbursed in second semester (60-day rule does not apply)
• If you have questions about if your purchase is reimbursable, contact your advisor before making the purchase!
• Families MUST create and submit reimbursement form, outlined in the videos to receive reimbursement. Adding expenses alone will not generate a reimbursement.
• FOR EACH REIMBURSEMENT YOU MUST REENTER YOUR CHECK PAYABLE AND ADDRESS!
