SVSD Monthly Newsletter
January & February
Welcome back: The Homestretch Begins
Dear Students, Families and Staff,
Welcome back! As we open our doors to Quarter 3, we hit a significant milestone: You are now officially closer to the next grade level than you are to the one you left behind last June.
Turning the Corner
For our students, this very realization often brings a mix of excitement and motivation:
Elementary students: You’re no longer the "new" kids in your grade; you are the experts of your classrooms.
Middle schoolers: You are finding your stride and preparing for the increased independence that awaits you soon.
High schoolers: For some, the finish line of graduation is coming into sharp focus; for others, it’s time to solidify the habits that will carry you into your upperclassman years.
I speak for everyone when I say we are proud of your progress and look forward to watching and supporting your continued growth. Let’s make this second half of the year our strongest yet.
Superintendent Jaime Vlasaty

Anyone who is hosting an event at one of the schools can make a catering request; please give the team at least three weeks' notice. The menu is linked below.
Curious when a quarter ends? Need to find the date of the next board meeting?
Don’t worry—the board-approved calendar is still available and accessible through the link provided above. It includes all student days off, required teacher training sessions, and scheduled breaks.
GIANT & SVSD Partnership Helps Students in Need
The GIANT Company is partnering with SVSD to help support students in the community who are facing food insecurity.
From January 1 through March 31, everyone who shops at GIANT, MARTIN’S and GIANT
Heirloom Market stores will be invited to “round up” their bill to the closest dollar. The round up
funds raised will support Feeding School Kids. Customers can also give back by converting their
CHOICE Rewards Points to donations in the GIANT app.
Saucon Valley's goal is to support the children in our district who need the most help accessing nutritious meals and snacks. From backpacks with weekend food, to clearing lunch debt, to building a community pantry in our schools, the funds will be provided directly to our district’s food services program for use, at our discretion, to address food insecurity in our school community.
