The Principal's Corner
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Our First 3-Day Weekend! 🦁
This will be our first 3-day weekend of the school year! Just a reminder that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7.
When we return, we will be in full swing! All classes have met and discussed expectations, assignments have been given, and we may have even had a few assessments or tests. If you ever have questions or need clarification, please reach out to your child’s teacher. We are here to support your child while also holding them accountable—PRIDE: Personal Responsibility in Daily Efforts.
Let’s review a few important procedures for this year:
• Transportation Changes: All changes must be communicated directly through the office before 2:00 p.m. We ask that transportation changes come through one location so all staff members know where your child needs to go after school.
• Morning Drop-Off: Please drop students off at the Lions statue by the flagpole. The front entrance is very busy in the morning, and the fewer moving vehicles near the front doors, the better.
• Absences & Tardies: Please call the school to report when your child will be absent or late. If you have third-party documentation, please send it to school so we can appropriately document the absence as excused.
You may hear a little grumbling from your students about some of our new procedures. I assure you, students are still able to use the restroom, visit the nurse when needed, and use the office phone. We are simply monitoring these procedures a little differently this year. The most important time of class is during direct instruction, which takes place at the beginning of class. We are asking all students to be present, prepared, and engaged from the start.
Thank you for helping us make this a successful school year! Go Lions! 🦁❤️

Are you interested in becoming a substitute teacher?
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher and you do not have the required 36 college hours, you can do an online course that will allow you to get a substitute certificate. Here is the link to that course, and here is the link to the DESE web page that gives you more information about what you need to do to get a substitute certification.
