First, thank you for filling out last months survey! It's clear that there is a lot of information that needs to get out to the students. In an effort to start that process, I'm offering a new service:
During Advisory days (period 8), I will have Zoom drop in hours at 2:30-3:00. Here's the link to check in! (Only on the days I am here)
Additionally, I will have open Zoom office hours on Wednesdays and Fridays during 12-12:30 so you can ask me questions during lunch. However, there may be some days where I will not be available during that time. Here is the link for the Lunch Open Hours.

Tips of the Month ๐ฑ
Community College...for Free?
Yes, you heard correctly. Thanks to the Oregon Promise Grant, Oregon high school graduates are able to attend community college for free.
Obviously you're thinking: What's the catch? I would say there aren't any catches, but it's important to see if you're qualified in the first place.
Here's who is eligible for the Oregon Promise:
- Submit the Oregon Promise Grant application AND the FAFSA or ORSAA by the appropriate deadline, and list at least one Oregon community college on the FAFSA or ORSAA.
- Be a recent Oregon high school graduate or GEDยฎ test graduate.
- Attend an Oregon community college by your required start term, based on your graduation date.
- Have a 2.0 cumulative high school GPA or higher, or a 145 grade on all GEDยฎ tests.
- Be an Oregon resident for at least 12 months prior to college attendance.
- For dependent students, your parent(s) must also live in Oregon.
- Have no more than 90 college credits completed or attempted.
- Students may be subject to eligibility requirements based on their Student Aid Index (SAI). SAI eligibility requirements are subject to change based on available funding.
- For Class of 2025 students, there is a final SAI limit of 18,000. Students at or above the limit are not eligible for the grant.
OK so you're in and you want to apply? Great! You'll want to apply via the Oregon Student Aid website. At the time of writing, the application is closed, but the portal should open mid-September.
In-State Tuition...Out of State??? It's True!
Believe it or not, it's true!
First, what am I talking about? I'm talking about the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE). Through this program, prospective students can choose from hundreds of undergraduate programs across the West and pay significantly less than the normal out-of-state tuition.
Again, you're asking what's the catch? Well not every school participates in the program. Additionally, the school decides whether a specific program has a reduced tuition rate.
So for example: you want to apply for Washington State University through the WUE. If you were applying for a Bachelor's in Accounting, WUE would apply and you'd pay a reduced tuition. However, if you wanted to go to Washington State University to study General Mathematics, WUE would not apply because WSU does not offer reduced tuition for that specific major.
Interested? Check out the Savings Finder to see what schools are participating and what majors they offer at reduced rates! WUE Tuition Savings
