A Message from the Principal

Hello Hunter Families,

Happy New Year!

I hope the past two weeks, and the holiday season were wonderful for all of you. I have shared with many people that my heart was full when we left for break, and my head and heart were in such a good place to enjoy my own Holiday. I give a lot of the credit to the Hunter Community. I am certain I headed home on December 18th, in better spirits because we had all been together for the days prior.

Soon into break the days merged together with countless hours spent building lego sets, playing board games and laser tag! I've come to be certain there is a special land where tiny lego pieces magically go to hide! Despite the fact, I have them all separated in tupperware bins and bowls, at least one manages to escape before completion of the set. Most likely they escape to the land, just outside of where missing socks go.

I welcome the return of school, the staff and our students! We will be fully remote this coming week (1/4/2021-1/8/2021) and resume our face-to-face learning schedule on 1/11/2021. The fully remote schedules and information come directly from your child's classroom teacher.

While remote learning can bring its own set of stressors, I am thankful to know it is just one week. Sometimes knowing the timeline helps with the hiccups.

Throughout this entire school year, our ability to maintain safe and effective in person instruction has been reliant on our dedicated instructional staff, strong mitigation practices, and open and consistent communications between home and school. As we enter into a week of remote learning, we want to once again stress that it is imperative that positive cases, close contact quarantines, and students awaiting test results are reported to the main office immediately. If you need to notify the school that your child is a close contact, potential close contact, awaiting a test result or received a positive test result, please email me at: mullinsj@gibdist.net and the child's classroom teacher.

My Best,

Jenna Mullins
