Future Star Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you all healthy, happy, and ready for an amazing spring. It’s hard to believe we are already heading into March! It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming our students back to Leeds for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
As we move toward spring, our teachers and staff are working diligently to prepare students for the upcoming assessment windows. Please remember the importance of ensuring your child gets plenty of sleep, stays healthy, and attends school regularly! We are so fortunate to educate your children at Leeds Elementary and look forward to a season filled with warm weather and lots of learning.
With the hope of brighter days ahead, we encourage our students to stay focused and continue striving for their best. Your support at home plays a vital role in their academic success, and we truly appreciate the effort you put in to reinforce learning beyond the classroom. A special thank you to all our students, staff, families, and the Leeds Booster Club for your continued support—it makes a world of difference!

Hello Future Stars Families!
I hope everyone has had a great month of February! The concerts this week were all fantastic. Congratulations to all of our students for having such successful performances!
Earlier this month, we celebrated Kindness Week. During this week, students were give and Tic-Tac-Toe or BINGO board with ideas for acts of kindness. Hopefully you were able to reap the rewards of some of those kind acts! Each student also got a chance to write or draw about what kindness is to them on a small paper lightbulb and we hung them on the “string of lights” in the music hallway. Lastly, each day there were a special group of people for each class to make a thank you card for. These groups included our office staff, lunchroom staff, custodial crew, and specials teachers. There are some pictures below for you to take a look at!
Looking ahead to March, our older students will begin preparing for the ISASP Tests that will take place at the end of April. I am hoping to provide a fun lesson with test taking skills for these students in their classrooms!
As always, thank you for sharing your kids with us! We have so much fun here at Leeds!
Mrs. Roskilly
Things to Know

Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 27. There will be no school for students on Friday, March 28.
Thank you for partnering with us in your child's education.
Coming Soon: Conditions for Learning Survey
All Iowa public school districts are required to administer an annual school climate and culture survey to students in grades 3-12 called Conditions for Learning Survey. The survey is designed to measure their engagement in school, safety, and the overall learning environment. The survey will be administered to students in April.
Parents and families of students in preschool through grade 12 will also have the opportunity to participate in the Parent Conditions for Learning Survey. The survey contains similar items to those on the student survey, focusing on areas that range from student safety and positive adult and student relationships to school rules and how they are enforced. Participation in the survey is encouraged, but it is completely voluntary, and all questions are optional to answer.
Please watch your email for more information on the survey.
