Birds, Life Cycles and Some Fun Games Birds, Life Cycles and Some Fun Games

We started to learn about Birds this week and how they are a part of Spring. We hear them each day in our classroom, chirping outside out window, and the students try and follow along with their songs. We started to dive into what we know about birds, how birds look and what is on their bodies as well as tying them into the life cycles that we have been learning about! Take a look at all the hard work and things we know!

Making our own Birds! Making our own Birds!

After making our chart of what we did know, we looked at what birds have on their bodies. We discovered that they have two eyes like us, they have wings and feathers and love to eat bugs and worms! We took all those things and created our own birds, filling in the bird with the color feathers of our own choice, drawing in the details that would both make the bird and create the environment around them.

Matching Games! Matching Games!

We played some matching games today, working on our memory, number recognition and turn taking. Sometimes its hard to wait for your turn, but everyone had such a fun time playing together and even helping their partner remember where the pictures were!

Life Cycle of a Bird Life Cycle of a Bird

Our final life cycle for Spring is the life cycle of a bird. We looked at the four stages of a birds life cycle, made our charts and then compared them to the life cycles of the flower and caterpillar.

Spring Picnic

Tuesday, May 23rd is our Spring Picnic! (rain date Thursday, May 25th) We are celebrating all of our loved ones and the ones who help our little ones grow. If you are able to make it, we ask you to join us at 1:00, out on the field near the playground. Bring some lunch, a blanket and enjoy the sun and fresh air. We will be dismissing right from the picnic as well!

Field Day

Friday May 26th is a half day and it is also our field day celebration! The games will be starting at 9:00 am and going until 11:30. If you are able to join us we will be having fun, running outside and doing some relay races and other fun games and at around 11:00 we will be doing ice pops, so if you are able to make it, we would love to have you join!

Green Folders

If there was a green folder sent home with your child with their work, could you please return them the following week. We will be using these to send home work or other important information each week!
