Open House
Open House was held Thursday October 15th at 5pm. We had a wonderful turn out with more than two thirds of students attending. It was very exciting to see students and families moving about the building meeting our new staff and getting to see what's been happening in their child's classroom these first few weeks of school. Students participated in a "bingo" activity that helped them visit a variety of people and places around the building. It was nice to the West Fairlee Library set up a table for the event. Thank you to Newmont Farm for the donation of pumpkins for prizes and the Everybody WINS! program for bundles of books which were raffled.
Fall Fest
This year's Fall Fest was a huge success! What a beautiful Vermont fall day we had for the event. Students participated in hay rides, face painting, donut on a string and relay races. Many smiles were seen and fun was had by all! The afternoon started with an all school lunch outside, followed by rotations that took students to all the planned activities. A huge thank you to Karen Ward who organized Fall Fest. Thank you to Newmont Farm for the hay rides, Lou's Bakery for donuts and Burt's Orchard for cider. The day wouldn't have been possible without our volunteers Rebekah Cadwell, Will Gladstone, and Marin, Trey & Autumn from Rivendell Academy. Our day ended with an all school picture.
Charleston Wrap Fundraiser
Our fundraiser is underway and we appreciate everyone who has registered and shared the link on your social media or through email. We are slowly making headway toward raising money to help cover the cost of bringing the Missoula Children's Theater to our school. As a reminder this fundraiser is all online, you don't need to collect any money and the orders are shipped direct to the person who purchases. If you haven't registered please do, any order no matter how small is a big help towards our goal of bringing Missoula Children's Theater to our school.
Missoula Children's Theater
Westshire Elementary is excited to announce that Missoula Children's Theater will be coming to our school! Auditions will be held March 29th and by Friday April 3rd we will be putting on performance of the Little Mermaid. Having worked with MCT before its so exciting to see students blossom as young actors and actresses. Stay tuned for more details.
Harvest Community Meal
This year's Harvest Meal will be held on Friday November 20th in the school gym. This is a wonderful Westshire tradition that we would like to invite all community members to attend. The meal will be free for community members and families. We ask that you RSVP the main office to let us know if you would like to attend. Please RSVP Maria Young at myoung@rivendellschool.org or by calling the main office at 802-333-4668 by November 9th. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Save the Dates! Missoula Children's Theater will be here on March 29th-April 3rd, 2027 to help us stage the musical "Little Mermaid". This is an incredible experience for students as the two MCT directors guided us from auditions on Monday to top notch performances on Friday.
Auditions will be Monday, March 29th from 9:00-11:00 am, and rehearsals start that afternoon. There will be two, 2-hour rehearsals daily. Because so much is covered at each rehearsal, students who miss even just one rehearsal are no longer able to be in the show. If your student hopes to take part, please keep these March 29th-April 3rd dates free of appointments and other anticipated absences so they won't be disappointed. Tentative performance date & times: Friday, April 3rd at 12:45 and 6:00 pm.
