KEY BACK TO SCHOOL NEWS

It's officially the first 'school night' of the 2025 school year! Everyone at Northwood is excited for the first day of school tomorrow. Be sure to review the grade level email blasts that were sent out on Friday; those contain room specific information related to the first few days of school.

We'll be ready to greet the students as they arrive via bus or carpool and help them get to the correct homerooms. We will begin the day with morning announcements at 7:40. The processes are smoothest if you start your planned arrival and dismissal routine on the first day so the students can get used to those routines. For afternoon dismissal, please be patient with the school bus drop off times as it takes time for the drivers and students to get into a groove with loading. Have the Here Comes the Bus app downloaded as it'll display the arrival time once the route has started.

For families participating in afternoon carpool pick up, do not pull into the circle until daycare vans have loaded and exited. While the daycare vans are loading, carpool guidelines will be reviewed with carpool students in the media center. It takes some practice for the students to learn the system and to get used to listening for their number and lining up in order when called. Be patient with our outside carpool staff helpers - they'll also be connecting with those new to the carpool process as well as helping families become adjusted to the routines. Please do not exit your vehicle at anytime. If assistance is needed in buckling a child, you can pull off to the curb once you've exited the carpool circle. By mid-August, the flow will be quick and seamless.

Make sure to review the new cafeteria funds online system as well as the updated breakfast and lunch costs, those can be found from the FCS Back to School link below. You will also see links for the transportation site the health services page, and links to the new technology policies.

We have a special 'gold star' surprise to give all of our Explorers who are ALL IN ON DAY ONE! Can't wait to see everyone tomorrow morning! Together we shine! 🤩
