GMS Information and Announcements
From the Principal's Desk
GMS Family,
As we step into the holiday season, we’re reminded of the importance of making memories and having fun together as a GMS family. Whether it's enjoying festive moments or cheering each other on, this is a time to celebrate all we’ve accomplished so far. With the second nine weeks quickly coming to a close, it’s also a crucial time for our students to stay focused and finish strong. We’re encouraging everyone to give their best effort on the upcoming CASE tests—it’s a great chance to show how much they’ve learned and grown this semester. Let’s make this December one to remember at GMS!
Sincerely,
GMS Admin Team

Message from Mrs. V
In September, Hurricane Helene devastated East TN and severely impacted the community. Hampton High School was forced to relocate as the flooding damaged the school's campus — both the grounds and the building. HHS is now displaced and conducting classes at Keenburg Elementary School. This is a challenge for both teachers & students. Teachers are doing their best to support students, many of whom have also faced significant losses, but they need our help to restore classroom resources and create a stable learning environment. Greeneville Middle School is collecting donations to help teachers at Hampton High School with supplies, materials, and other essentials to support our students' educational journey in these challenging times. Every bit helps—please consider contributing to help their school community rebuild and move forward stronger than ever

GMS Staff Shout Outs
Check out how GMS staff make GMS a great place for students!
Jeremy Simerly
Thinking Win-Win
Jeremy is willing to lend a hand in answering questions and sharing materials. He collaborates well with others and shares forms that he has developed. He jumps in to help without being asked. He sees opportunities for win-win with his 8th grade team as well as with the sped team.
Anna Burge
Seeking First to Understand, then to be Understood
Anna puts others before herself - other staff, all students, and others. She is a great listener and answers questions clearly. Anna knows sped law and expectations; she helps others to understand as well. She allows others to bounce ideas off of her and responds with excellent feedback and support.
Custodial Staff
Synergizing
The custodial staff has been amazing! Whether it is having coffee ready, which is needed to start the day, to bringing in extra trash cans due to a big project, they are always willing to help and find a way.
Officer Moore
Seeking First to Understand, then to be Understood
During GMS Fun Day, he walked a student through and had her pick out 4 food items and a drink. She did and then he said "go have fun"....she walked off and he paid for it. He did this discreetly and did not draw attention to the action. It was such a kind measure and another reason why I am so proud of our staff.
Donita Huff
Being Proactive
Mrs. Huff is a very great teacher and is being proactive because she always makes sure that we are able to get the knowledge we need, and on her Monday Check-ins she always asks if there is anything else we want to add and how our weekend was.
Do You Have A GMS Shout-Out to Share?
