CVUSD Moves to Enhance Internet Security and Protection of Personal Information CVUSD Moves to Enhance Internet Security and Protection of Personal Information

zoom_out_map

CVUSD’s Technology Services Department is launching a new password policy for students to better align with cybersecurity best practices. This policy requires students to create stronger passwords that are more difficult to guess or hack, and to change them regularly.

Internet security is a vital skill for our students to learn, as they use technology for various purposes, such as education, communication, entertainment, and research. By creating and maintaining strong passwords, our students can prevent unauthorized access to their online accounts, such as email, learning platforms, social media, and cloud storage. They can also protect their personal information, such as name, address, phone number, and school records, from being stolen or misused by hackers or cybercriminals.

We appreciate your cooperation and support for this new password policy. We encourage you to promote the positive use of technology by your children, and to help them understand the importance of internet security and digital citizenship. You can find more information on teaching children to protect their data and privacy online on Common Sense Media

Our Scholar-Musicians Shine at the All District Music Festival: Strings & Choir Our Scholar-Musicians Shine at the All District Music Festival: Strings & Choir

We love to see our scholar-musicians talents shine at the Conejo Schools Foundation's All District Music Festival! This spring, ten special nights of strings, choir and band performances featuring 3,600+ of our students are taking place at the Fred Kavli Theatre at Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Strings and choir performances took place over the last two weeks, and at the end of May our clusters of schools will wrap up the annual event with three band performance dates. We are so grateful for our community partners' dedication to and support of the arts in the Conejo!

Last week, our 4th grade scholars across the Conejo participated in Trails Education Days hosted by the Conejo Open Space Foundation. The goal of Trails Education Days is to instill an appreciation and sense of stewardship of natural open space. Trained volunteers led students in hikes into Wildwood Canyon where they participated in three workshops about park ranger careers, trail safety and courtesy, and indigenous birds and animals. Thank you to COSF and their team of volunteers for making this hands-on learning experience and exploration of our community's beautiful trails possible for our students!
