Bulldog Bulletin
Week of 2/2/25
Principal's Greeting
Dear Churchill Families,
Happy February! It's hard to believe the first month of the year has already come and gone. Trimester 2 will end on March 3rd, and we want to ensure all students finish strong. Parents and guardians, please continue to check your child’s assignment notebooks to make sure they are staying on top of their work. Homework is designed to reinforce the skills learned during the school day, and staying on track now will help them finish this trimester with confidence.
Please also take a moment to review your child’s Star Winter Benchmark report. As mentioned last week, many students showed growth in both math and reading. The Star assessment is a predictor of the upcoming IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness), which will begin the week of March 17th.
In honor of Black History Month, we will highlight a different important contribution from an African American figure each day. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the impact that has been made on American Culture.
Lastly, for the safety of all our students, any adult picking up a student before 3:15pm must present a valid photo ID in the office each time to verify their identity. The individual must also be listed as an emergency contact in the student's profile. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for our children.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful week!

Attendance Matters
We are excited to welcome our students to school each day! To maintain a healthy school environment, please keep your child at home if they are feeling unwell. Timely attendance is crucial—frequent tardiness or early departures disrupt the learning experience for all students. We encourage you to support your child's success by ensuring they have a consistent routine, eat nutritious meals, and get plenty of rest.
For any attendance-related matters, please be sure to communicate directly with your child’s teacher and the main office. Thank you for your cooperation in helping our students stay engaged and on track!
