November

Every month, the counselor lessons align with our Journey of a Blue Devil competencies. This month we are focused on empathy. When we define what empathy is, we define it as putting yourself in someone else's shoes. During the counselor lessons this month, students will learn how to identify others' feelings by looking at facial expressions, reading body language, and listening to the tone in their voice. We will also discuss how to show that you care about someone by listening to them, offering help and understanding others' perspectives.

What Did I Miss?

October was National Bullying Awareness month. Counseling lessons focused on bullying prevention. These lessons will ensure that students learn to recognize, report and refuse bullying. This unit aligned with our empathy competency.
