The Austin Gazette

1st Grade's Field Trip

Families,
Next week, we are excited to celebrate Generation Texas Week—a statewide initiative that encourages students to explore their goals, dreams, and future pathways. Each day highlights a different aspect of planning for the future, from careers to college readiness to building confidence in who they are becoming.

To support this celebration, we are offering simple, fun dress-up days for students who would like to participate:

• Monday – Camo Day: “Be all you can be!” Wear camo to show support for our military.

• Tuesday – Dress for Success: Dress your best for a future job interview.

• Wednesday – Your Future Is So Bright: Wear sunglasses!

• Thursday – Don’t Sweat Your Future: Wear comfy sweats, joggers, or hoodies.

• Friday – College Fits Me to a T: Wear a college T-shirt.

Participation is completely optional, but we love seeing our students dream big and have fun while doing it. Thank you for partnering with us as we support and encourage their bright futures!

Mr. Kuykendall thanks our Austin PTO for purchasing these books for our Library. They were all written by Michael Patrick O'Neill who visited our school on November 10th. Thank you PTO!

Families, please note that bus delay notifications will no longer be sent through Bus Hub. To stay informed about your child’s bus, it is very important to sign up for the SMART Tag™ Parent App.

The SMART Tag app gives you:

• Real-time bus updates

• Arrival/departure alerts

• Notifications for delays or route changes

Getting started is easy—download the app, create an account, and link your child using their student ID.

• GT REFERRAL WINDOW is open 🙂

• Parents, teachers, and administration can refer any student for GT testing.

• Ms. Briley will be collecting referral forms until December 19, 2025.
