Child Care Chalkboard

August 1-31

Child CareChalkboardAugust 1-31

Sunscreen Needed

As we roll into the last month of our summer program we are starting to run out of sunscreen. We apply sunscreen at least twice a day to all of the children. This causes us to go through it fairly quickly. Please bring in another bottle of sunscreen, if you have not already done so, so we can keep the children safe through this last month. Thank you!

Food and Toys from Home

Please do not allow your child to bring food or toys from home. If your child brings something we will ask you to take it with you when you leave in the morning. However, this sometimes creates for a difficult drop-off so it is best to leave it in the car. Thank you for your help in this matter.

ICE CREAM WAGON

Once a week the Youth Center kids will visit the other classrooms for the opportunity to purchase Popsicles and Ice Cream Treats after snack. The treats will cost $.50-$1.75. We will provide Otter Pops for anyone who does not have money. If you would like to bring $5 or $10, we would be happy to keep this in an envelope for your child to use each week. The Youth Center will use the proceeds for an end-of-summer Pizza Party.

The Ice Cream Wagon dates for August are:

Monday, August 3 (No Beehive)

Friday, August 14 (No WW or BF)

Tuesday, August 18 (Last one for the summer)

Field Trips

Summer is the time for field trips. Please pay special attention to the schedules listed under each week to see if any special items are needed for those days. We will also list a price for field trips with a cost. This price will be added to your bill so that you do not need to bring cash on that day.

Closed for teacher in-service

Monday, August 24: Closed for Teacher Training and Classroom Prep

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Summer and Fall Registration Fees

There has been some confusion about the summer and fall registration fees. These fees are meant to cover bus/van usage, art supplies and any administrative costs. They do not cover the prices charged for field trips. We try to get special deals for field trips since we are going as a group. Then we pass the price charged on to you. Unfortunately, as the prices in the valley are going up the cost of field trips is going up also. We try to keep the additional costs down but we also want the children to have the best childcare experience possible.

Please do not allow your child to bring food from home, except on lake days when they need a sack lunch. We have found food in cubbies that has gotten rotten and moldy.
