School Committee Meeting

Our next School Committee meeting will be held on November 2 at 6:00 p.m., where I’ll share an update on our School Improvement Plan (SIP). Families are welcome to attend, and I encourage you to review the School Committee agenda and supporting documents ahead of time. Since time is limited during the meeting, I won’t be able to go through all the details of the supporting materials, so previewing them in advance is a great way to learn more about the plan and the work underway to support our school community.

As always, if you have questions or concerns specific to your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.

Working Together: Communication and School Committee Roles

We are fortunate to have School Committee members who are supportive of our school and actively involved in our community. As we welcome new families and continue to build strong partnerships, I’d like to share a little information about the different roles we each play in supporting our school.

When you see School Committee members at school events, they are often there in their role as parents and members of our school community. For questions or concerns about school matters, we encourage families to begin with the person closest to the situation. Classroom-related questions are best addressed with your child’s teacher, while broader school-related concerns can be brought to me as principal. If a concern remains unresolved, the next steps are to connect with the superintendent and, if needed, the School Committee.

The School Committee’s primary responsibilities include setting school policy, approving the budget, and providing broader oversight of the school district, rather than managing day-to-day school operations.

Following these communication pathways helps ensure that questions are addressed by the right people and supports positive, collaborative relationships among families, staff, and school leadership. You can find additional information about communication procedures and school expectations in our Family Handbook. Thank you for partnering with us!

Halloween Fun: PTO Party This Friday!

Our PTO-sponsored Halloween Party is happening this Friday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. We’re looking forward to a fun evening together!

The cafeteria and gym will be in use during the event, and the multi-stall bathrooms near those spaces will remain open. In addition, we’ll make a single-user bathroom available on the same level for anyone who prefers that option. It’s accessible from the hallway in the cafeteria, across from the counselor’s office and Mrs. Irving’s room. Please note that this bathroom is typically reserved for staff during the school day and will be available for student use during events like this one.

As you enjoy the festivities, please be sure to supervise your children and help them stay within the areas designated for the event. Thank you for helping us keep the evening safe and enjoyable for everyone. We hope you have a spooktacular time!

A Reminder: Early Release Next Week

Next week, Tuesday through Friday will be early-release days, with dismissal at 1:00 p.m. Please take a moment to review your family’s plans and make sure your child, school staff, and anyone responsible for pickup are all aware of the dismissal time and arrangements.

Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe dismissal each day!

Clock Reminder!

Wishing everyone a relaxing and enjoyable weekend! One quick reminder: Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, November 1, so remember to turn your clocks back one hour.

Enjoy the extra hour of sleep, and we look forward to seeing everyone next week!
