We want you to know Morgan County Schools is continuing to monitor the situation on US Highway 231 north and south bound.
We are in constant communication with the Alabama Department of Transportation along with our partners the Morgan County Sheriff's Department. First and foremost is the safety of our students. While this situation creates a major inconvenience, we will do whatever it takes to make sure our students arrive safely to school and return home safely.
To that end, we are meeting several times a day to discuss options and how to handle traffic flow. The best thing we can advise, at this point, is for everyone to plan to give themselves an extra 15 minutes or more each day. In addition, please realize it will take a bit longer for us to safely bus your students to and from school. This could increase the pick up and drop of times by 15 minutes or more.
