Attendance-BE PRESENT Attendance-BE PRESENT

All students, virtual and traditional, must follow The Mississippi Department of Education requirements for attendance. Please communicate with teachers and the office for days absent.

Instruction and Assessment-BE PRODUCTIVE Instruction and Assessment-BE PRODUCTIVE

Students must work each day on each class. Students are getting behind in their work when they only work on one class each day. Students should login to each Google Meet session with each teacher throughout the day unless informed otherwise by the lead teacher, Ms. Mitchell, due to a teacher absence. Even if a teacher is absent, students should complete their work.

Make sure to follow the TLC Assessment Calendar to know when to bring your student to campus for district assessments.

Doing Your Best-BE PROFICIENT Doing Your Best-BE PROFICIENT

The mission of the Gulfport School District is to inspire each student to become a problem solver, lifelong learner, and productive member of society. In order to accomplish this mission, students must have challenging and rigorous work to be proficient. Proficiency is critical to the overall success of students so that they are strong competitors in life. A proficient and advanced student is the Gulfport Way. GVA is committed to this level of excellence. We have tutoring available each week, on site and virtually, to help students who are struggling. Encourage your student to speak up and let the teacher's know if they need help. The teachers are monitoring work and will reach out to students whose grades and progress are deficient. However, speaking up will help avoid being deficient.

You will receive two Edgenuity progress reports this month. See Upcoming Events below for dates.
