Junior Planning Night - In Case You Missed it

Thank you to any AVA juniors and families who attended the AHS Guidance Dept.'s Junior Planning Night last Thursday! Many topics were covered, including new developments on Early Decision for college applications and new tips, such as creating a separate email account for post-secondary communications. There was also much useful information on careers and military, so please click HERE for a digital copy of the slideshow presentation.

Opportunities Fair

Juniors and Seniors: School-to-Career will be hosting on AHS campus its annual Opportunities Fair in the morning of Thursday, April 18th. There will be representatives from several different employers, colleges, trade schools, and more for students to connect with and secure a plan for after high school. More details to come, mark your calendars for now!

Bridgewater State University College Fair - Last Call!
Juniors: The AHS Guidance Dept. will be sponsoring a trip to the Bridgewater State NEACAC College Fair on May 30 to see approximately 130 colleges and universities. This is a great opportunity for college-thinking juniors to explore the many different colleges and degree programs and speak directly with admissions representatives. Departure will be at 8:15 AM from the AHS campus, and we plan to return to AHS by 11:00 AM. This event is free for students, but space is limited, so please register HERE as soon as possible.

Financial Aid Night - Seniors (and Juniors!)
Reminder: The AHS Guidance Dept. will be holding its spring financial aid night on Wednesday, April 8th starting at 4pm. There will be help sessions for FAFSA completion, as well as presentations from MEFA and on Understanding Award Packages for families who've applied to colleges and received financial aid letters. Juniors are also welcome to join the MEFA presentation on the general financial aid process at 6:15pm. Registration is required, so please sign up HERE. Free pizza dinner will be provided! Virtual help this night is possible; just email Ms Nellie at least a few days ahead of time.

Attleboro Scholarships - Deadline is this Week!

The deadline for most Attleboro community scholarships is this Friday, March 20! There are two general types seniors can fill out:

1) The Attleboro High School General Scholarship Application. All AVA seniors are strongly encouraged to complete this one! Students must be logged into their APS email account to complete the application. This one application serves as the application to several different scholarships. If you experience any technical difficulties with the form, please contact Gina Spencer at gspencer@attleboroschools.com.

2) The Attleboro Scholarship Foundation - Their general application serves multiple scholarships, and, like above, there are separate applications for certain awards. All of these can be found on the Attleboro Scholarship Foundation website. Please note, you must create an account as a first step in the process.

As always, please feel free to email me (nng@attleboroschools.com) with any questions, comments, or concerns. Have a great weekend!
