WHS Weekly Update- 9/11/26

Good afternoon,

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, our school community took time today to remember the lives lost and the many individuals whose courage and service shaped that day and its aftermath. An extended moment of silence provided an opportunity for our school to pause, reflect, and remember.

Thank you to the many parents and families who joined us for Open House this week. Your presence and engagement help strengthen the connection between our school and the families we serve.

The first round of school pictures were done this week. Once these photos are processed by C3, we will publicize a picture retake date.

Reminders:

• Afterschool Media Center: The WHS Media Center will be open daily from 2:30-4:00 pm beginning on September 14th. Students may come from extra help, testing, or simply a quiet study space.

• ASVAB Testing: All Grade 11 students will participate in the ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) on Thursday, September 24, from 9:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. in the gymnasium. The ASVAB CEP helps students identify their strengths, explore potential career paths, and plan for the future. For more information, please consult the WHS September Newsletter. If you have any questions about ASVAB testing, please contact Dr. Maio at jmaio@windhamsd.org.

• PSAT/NMSQT: Register for the Fall 2026 PSAT/NMSQT! Click here to sign up for PSAT at WHS on Saturday, October 17, 2026 (more information about the PSAT/NMSQT can be found in the WHS September newsletter).

• Parent/Guardian PowerSchool Support Sessions: Windham's Technology Department is offering Parents/Guardians the opportunity to book one-on -one help sessions with one of our PowerSchool specialists on September 21-23. These sessions are 15 minutes each and can be in person at the SAU office or via Zoom, whichever is convenient for you. We recommend these sessions for parents/guardians who need more assistance than a password reset. We can help with things like navigating MyPowerHub or viewing your student's schedule, grades, etc. For simple support requests such as password resets, please continue to use our Google Parent Support Form.

• When you book a day and time that works for you, select either "In-person" or "Zoom" with screen sharing. For Zoom sessions, we will send you a Zoom link before your designated meeting time.

• Note: If you need help with the mobile app, we suggest meeting in person, as screen sharing the app may not be an option.

• Sept. 15: Club Fair during Lunches

• Sept. 16: Class of 2027 Rooftop Photo (in Advisory); Parent Council Meeting at 3:30 pm

• Sept. 17: Deadline to register for the SNHU College Fair on 10/8 (Registration Form)

• Sept. 24: ASVAB testing for Gr. 11
