Colby College Arts Field Trip 🎨

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the winter months, please remind students to dress warmly. Students should bring layers and proper footwear to ensure they can enjoy their outdoor fresh air breaks comfortably. Additionally, we kindly ask that students not be dropped off before 7:00 AM, as staff are not available to open doors until this time.

We are excited to kick off the winter sport season, with our teams representing the OHMS Raiders with pride! We continue to encourage students to maintain strong Habits of Work (HOW) grades to participate in our fun activities, such as clubs, sports, and school-wide assemblies. These events offer all students the chance to showcase their school spirit and skill sets.

As we head into December, here are some important dates and updates to keep in mind:

December 5th: Winter Concert, Art Show, and Book Fair from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

December 23rd - January 1st: Holiday Break

To keep you informed, check out the OHMS Important Event Document for details about upcoming events here at OHMS.

We also encourage your involvement, whether through volunteering, chaperoning, or joining your student for lunch. If you’re interested, please complete a volunteer packet. You can find more information here: Volunteer Information.

As we enter the holiday season, please take a moment to read below about our Holiday Basket Food Drive and consider how you can help contribute to our community.

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving break and look forward to welcoming students back on December 2nd!

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

MaKayla Stevens

Habits of Work

Habits of Work at Oak Hill Middle School are used to assess student's behaviors and expectations. Additionally, they are also used to determine eligibility for extra & co-curricular activities. This eligibility check occurs roughly every three weeks over the school year and students are required to have 2's and above on all habits to continue with their activities. Please see the attached image that displays each habit and how they are assessed.
