Inside ScoopHockinson High School - 2024-2025

September 5, 2025 September 5, 2025

Hello, Hawks:

We are in September, so the short honeymoon period that August gives us is over! If you're new to HHS - that includes new families - you're finding out very quickly how busy the Hawks are. This weekend is a perfect example - JV cross country, football versus Chief Sealth, Husky Band Day at University of Washington, and a home girls soccer game. That doesn't include the tennis, golf, and volleyball that had matches this week 🫠🫠🫠

Our Hawks are busy.

Today, all classes met during Focus to discuss plans for Homecoming Parade floats. Each class is responsible for putting a float together for the parade on September 26. Leadership students for each class should have sent out either a Google Form or sign up sheet to generate interest. We also need your help. Please check out the information below from our ASB Advisor, Kasey Powers.

Here's what you'll find in the Scoop:

  • Homecoming Parade Float Help Needed
  • Counselor, College, and Career Information
  • NHS Application Information
  • Yearbook Information for Seniors
  • Knowledge Bowl Team Information
  • PSAT Information
  • Athletics (New Website)
  • AAA Booster Information
  • Band Update

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at tim.fox@hocksd.org. Thank you for your support!

Homecoming Parade Float Help Needed Homecoming Parade Float Help Needed

Sophomore and Freshmen Parents:

We need your help! HHS is starting a new tradition this year during Homecoming! We will be holding a parade after school on September 26 that will begin at the Middle School and Finish in the Parking lot by the football stadium.

Each class (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen) will have a float in the parade. The theme is "Once a Hawk Always a Hawk". Here is where we would like your help. We need two trucks and trailers (1 for the Freshmen class float and 1 for the Sophomore class float). We would need the trailers for the week of September 21-27. The students will need several days to decorate.

Please contact Kasey Powers kasey.powers@hocksd.org (ASB Coordinator). Any help will be greatly appreciated. Students are looking forward to kicking off a new tradition!
