REITs, Wins, and What Comes Next

I’m heading to New York City to attend Nareit’s REIT Week Conference, one of the most influential events in the real estate investing world.

If you’re not familiar, REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts) are companies that own and operate income-producing real estate—like apartments, office buildings, and data centers. They offer a powerful way to invest in real estate without owning physical property.

Thanks to a partnership between Nareit and Empify—a game changing financial education platform founded by the Ashley Fox—I’ll be attending alongside fellow investors from Empify’s REIT Accelerator and REIT Street Elite programs.

I knew I wasn’t just learning this for myself. I was learning so I could bring it back to the communities I care about.

Let me be real: We need more Black folks—especially Black men—in these conversations.

Not just as consumers, but as investors, owners, and thought leaders.
