Character Trait for the Month of December: Honesty
This month, our Colossal Cobras are focusing on Honesty—telling the truth, doing the right thing, and choosing integrity even when it’s difficult. Throughout December, our school counselors will be leading special lessons in the library to help students explore what honesty looks like in everyday life. Together, we’ll practice being truthful, trustworthy, and responsible members of our school community.

Important Information❗
Stay Updated on Your Child’s Grades!
We recommend setting up gradebook notifications to stay informed about your child’s progress. This process has changed since the district moved to the new Parent Portal last year and you may have found that you are no longer receiving notifications.
To set up notifications:
1. Log in to Home Access Center on the Parent Portal.
2. Click on Classwork and Schedules.
3. Choose the alerts you’d like to receive.
💡 Tip: If you want to get an email for all entered grades, select “Alert me if my student receives an assignment average below 100” (as shown in the picture).
This quick setup helps you stay in the loop and support your student’s success!
Parents, just a reminder from the School Nurse: Students cannot be in possession of ANY medication while here at school. This includes prescription medication of any kind or PRN (as needed) medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Aleve, cough drops, etc.
In the interest of safety for all students, medications cannot be transported to or from school on the school bus. Should your child need to have medication at school please bring or make arrangements for the medication to be brought to the clinic by parent or legal guardian.
In order for a student to receive medication here at school, parents must sign the medication into the clinic with the nurse. Written permission must be obtained by parent or legal guardian for any medication to be administered to students.
Students cannot handle or bring in medication into the school or clinic. Medication must be FDA approved, in its original container, unexpired, age appropriate and signed in by a parent in order to be administered while at school.
For safety purposes, all medication must be kept in the clinic during the school day with the exception of emergency medications with appropriate physician’s orders.
Students cannot carry or administer their own medication, unless specifically ordered to do so by a physician with an accompanying physician order - (example of this would be student self-carrying an inhaler with severe asthma).
For medication for anaphylaxis, such as an “epi-pen”, to be in the possession of a student, the student must have a written letter from a physician stating that the student is capable of self-administering the medication if needed. This procedure is also evaluated by the school nurse to insure that the student is adequately prepared to self-administer the medication.
For more medication at school information please see the CISD Health Services Website at https://www.conroeisd.net/page/healthservices, under "Medication at School".
For any medication concerns or questions, please contact the School Nurse, Nurse Dempsey at 281-298-3809 or email at Kdempsey@conroeisd.net.
Thank you!

Dismissal Reminders
Inclement Weather Dismissal
In the event of severe weather, please check your email or text for updates on whether we will have an Inclement Weather (Rainy Day) Dismissal.
If extreme weather (wind, hail, lightning, extreme rain) is expected around dismissal (4:05 PM), we recommend that students get picked up in the Car Rider Line. Biking and walking students will only be released directly to a parent with the student's car rider sign or ID number.
Car Rider:
- Every parent should have a car rider sign visible in the car line.
- If you are picking up additional students, please write each student’s ID number clearly and in large print on a sheet of paper.
- Missing car rider signs or ID numbers slows down the process for everyone.
Biker/Walker:
- Parents using this option should line up at the 5th grade bike rack.
- A car rider sign or ID number is also required.
Calling the Front Office:
- We will do our best to notify families by 3:35 PM if an Inclement Weather Dismissal will be used.
- Please have a "Plan B" established with your child so they will know how they are getting home.
- You do not need to call the front office unless it is a change from your pre-established "Plan B."
