6th Graders First Day - Sept 9th
Attention 6th Graders! We are excited to see you for your first day of school on Wednesday, September 9th! Please see your schedule below. Our doors will open at 8:20am and students will start in the cafeteria where you will meet staff and our WEB Leaders. Please bring your school supplies and materials on this first day as you will have the opportunity to run through your schedule and practice your lockers.
Parents - be sure to also check in with your child to make sure they know how they are getting home at the end of each day. If you are needing to register for the school bus, please scroll down for bus information.
7th & 8th Graders First Day is Thurs, Sept 10th
7th and 8th graders who are new to Pilot Butte on 9/10 will stay in the cafeteria during first period. New Giants will have the opportunity to meet their administrators, counselors, and student support team. Students will get their schedules and WEB leaders will provide guided tours before students are dismissed to their second period class.
School Supplies
Families are welcome to purchase the following supplies to get students off to a great start:
- 12 Pencils
- 1 Three-Inch Ring Binder
- 3 Composition Books
- 12 Colored Pencils
- 1 Pack of Loose Leaf Paper (either college or wide ruled)
- 2 Gluesticks
- 1 Pencil Pouch (whatever style you like!)
- 3 Three-prong/two-pocket folders (whatever color you like!)
- Optional: Lunchbox and/or Water Bottle for personal use
Free breakfast and free lunch is once again offered at our school,
but your student may still choose to bring their lunch from home if they prefer.
Bus Registration Information
Is your student riding the school bus during the 2026 - 2027 school year? Registration is required, even if your student rode the bus last year.
If you have a student this year who is eligible for transportation, please log into your ParentVUE account and use the Online Registration tool. Select the "Annual Request for Transportation" tile to walk you through the bus rider registration process. If you need assistance with logging into or trouble shooting your ParentVUE account, please email student-request@bend.k12.or.us.
To find out if your student is eligible for transportation, go to bls.fyi/bus. If you have any other questions, please email transportation@bend.k12.or.us. And happy riding!

Counselor's Corner
Hello Families,
Fall Needs Assessment:
Your student will be taking a Counseling Needs Assessment the week of September 21, 2026. The purpose of this assessment is to get an overall sense of how students are feeling about school, determine any potential need for support groups, and identify any individuals who may be needing individual support.
If you do not wish to have your student participate in the counseling needs assessment, please complete this Opt Out Form.

iPad Information
Students will be receiving iPads the first week of school. Students will not be taking iPads home this year. Instead, they will be leaving them with their 7th period teacher at the end of the day and they will be charged overnight at school.
iPad insurance is still encouraged in the event an iPad is damaged Students grade 6-12 who are assigned a District iPad have the option to purchase insurance. The cost of insurance is $30 per student with a family cap of $60 and can be purchased using this link: CLICK HERE

Bell Schedules

School Doors Open at 8:20am
Please note - supervision begins each day at 8:20am. Doors will open for students to enter school at 8:20am. School ends at 3:45pm Mon, Tues, Thurs and Friday. School ends on early release Wednesdays at 2:15pm.
Attendance Reporting
Need to report an absence? Choose one of the three options:
1. ParentVue - This is the easiest method to report an absence. Go into ParentVue and click the blue REPORT ABSENCE button (shown in image above) and fill out the absence details.
2. Email us at: pilotbutte-attendance@bend.k12.or.us
3. Call the attendance line at 541-355-7415
Remember Your Photo ID
- Please remember your photo ID when picking up your student during school hours for the safety of our students.
- It is also important that you keep current emergency contacts and phone numbers updated.
