Dear Families,
We’ve been having so much fun at School 6! Thank you for the amazing turnout at our first Family Literacy Night, where I read Spookley the Square Pumpkin and students rotated through differentiated learning stations led by our wonderful teachers. A special shout-out to our student readers who brought the story to life with a lively readers’ theater performance. Your participation and feedback filled my heart, thank you! Please scroll down to enjoy the photos from the evening.
Lincoln Leaders' Monthly Reward
Our Lincoln Leaders know that “Good choices yield good consequences, while bad choices yield bad consequences.” Each month, students who consistently demonstrate respect, kindness, and responsibility are celebrated through our Lincoln Leaders Monthly Reward program. This month, our Lincoln Leaders will enjoy themed activities in the gym as part of their well-deserved reward!
Students who did not make the best choices this month will have the opportunity to start fresh and work toward joining the celebration next month. Every day is a new chance to show leadership, make good choices, and earn positive consequences!
Parent Portal
I’ve received several inquiries regarding Parent Portal access. To support our families in creating their accounts, I’ve created a simple “How To” video. Teachers shared the video via Class Dojo. This quick guide will walk you through the process and help ensure you’re connected to your child’s academic information.

🏃♀️🏃 What is MyFunRun? 🏃♀️🏃
MyFunRun is a healthy, fun-filled fundraiser where students participate in a run, walk, or themed laps to raise money for our school. Throughout the campaign, donations are collected both online and in person through our website and/or cash donations. The program promotes fitness, community spirit, and healthy living — encouraging regular exercise and positive habits.
💜 Why Are We Running? 💜
All funds raised will support student activities, field trips, incentives, scholarships, and school-wide celebrations that make learning exciting and rewarding. Your generosity helps us create unforgettable experiences for our children!
⭐️⭐️On race day, students are to wear a plain white t-shirt and clothing that can get dirty. ⭐️⭐️

Lincoln Detectives Helped Crack the Case
Our first schoolwide mystery was a huge success! Lincoln Leaders turned into top-notch detectives as they worked together to solve The Case of the Missing Lincoln Statue! Special thanks to our incredible staff for bringing the fun to life: Ms. Buscio as Ms. Scarlet, Ms. Luna as Ms. Peacock, Ms. Smith as Colonel Mustard, and Mr. Padro as Professor Plum. With Dr. Mendez leading the investigation, our student detectives used clues, teamwork, and sharp thinking to crack the case wide open. What an exciting week of mystery, laughter, and Lincoln Leader spirit!
Safety Patrol
The Safety Patrol led by Mr. Prado is a group of 5th graders that help out around School 6. They assist with breakfast, arrival, and dismissal and make sure that all students are safely picked up.

Unity Day!
On Wednesday, October 22nd, we celebrated Unity Day by wearing orange. Unity Day is a special day where we show kindness, acceptance, and inclusion, where we all come together to stand up against bullying. All of our students cut out and decorated his/her hand and it is displayed in this picture, showing that School #6 is united as one!!
Health and Wellness Reminders from Nurse Falk
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the colorful fall season settles in, we want to share a few important health reminders to help keep our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
🍂 Dressing for the Weather
Fall temperatures can change quickly throughout the day!
Please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather:
Layer up – Mornings can be chilly, but afternoons may warm up. Light jackets, sweaters, and long-sleeve shirts work well.
Hats and gloves – Keep them handy for colder mornings.
Proper footwear – Closed-toe shoes or sneakers are safest for playground time.
Label all jackets and sweatshirts with your child’s name to help us return lost items!
💉 Important Reminder for Preschool Families
The state requires all children under the age of five attending preschool to receive a flu vaccine by December 19th each year.
Please submit documentation from your healthcare provider once your child has received the flu shot.
If your child receives an exemption, please ensure the proper documentation is on file with the school nurse before the deadline.
🌾 General Fall Health Tips
Encourage frequent handwashing to help prevent the spread of colds and flu.
Keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea until symptom-free for 24 hours.
Make sure your contact information is up to date in case we need to reach you during the school day.
Pack a reusable water bottle to keep your child hydrated throughout the day.
Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy this season!
Stay warm, stay healthy, and enjoy the fall season!
Warm regards,
Nurse Falk
