The Tale of (St.) Peter Rabbit
Our parish garden typically produces vegetables during the summer months for our food bank guests. This year, we've also been inadvertently feeding a neighborhood bunny. He loves peas, but has left the radishes and squash alone. (As you can see in the pictures, we were still able to harvest quite a few of the peas.) We have attempted to deter him, but for the most part just consider him another one of God's creatures we're able to feed.

Actions for July
Reduce single-use plastics in your kitchen. How could you reduce your reliance on single-use plastics? Try to eliminate as much disposable plastic from your life as possible; it breaks down into tiny particles that enter streams, lakes and oceans, harming harm fish and other wildlife. Instead, keep a reusable water bottle; wash and reuse plastic sandwich and snack bags, or try replacing them with waxed paper or waxed paper bags, which can be composted.

Global Solidarity
Catholics Engaging in Immigrant Justice
The recent synodal process has encouraged Catholics to engage in a Culture of Encounter, which entails deep listening. With an open heart, this deep listening allows us to receive the hopes and aspirations, pains and struggles, of our brothers and sisters seeking justice. In response, we commit to accompany these communities and invite you to join us for a day of camaraderie, listening, learning, and action in our struggle for justice for immigrants.
Find out more and register here.
Sponsored by: Archdiocese of Seattle Immigrant and Refugee Ministry, St. James Cathedral Immigrant Assistance, Intercommunity Peace & Justice Center, and Seattle University's Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture.
