About the Music Program and Performance Times
Your student's music program has been scheduled! It will be on Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm (please note the time change from previous years). We will also have two day-time performances for the students.
Our program is called "Try Not to Laugh: A Very Serious Show." It is a very serious concert and we hope you won't laugh.. not one tiny snicker!
This program is for ALL 3rd Grade students. It will be their only opportunity for performance this school year. If you know your student will not be at either the day-time performances or the evening performance, please let me know as soon as possible (TMartin@usd207.org).
On the evening of the program, students will need to be back at school between 5:45-5:50 p.m. and meet in their classrooms. Please have them give you any coats or jackets as they will not return to their classrooms.
Speaking Lines
Students will have the opportunity to volunteer for speaking lines. If students want a speaking line, they will receive one, likewise, if they do not want a speaking line, they will not receive one. Scripts have been passed out during music class. A copy of the script will be added to this website for your reference. All lines will be need to be memorized (but I will be in front of the students if any of them forget!)
There are several students who will be specific characters.
Costumes and Props
There are no costumes for this music program.
Please look at the top of their scripts to see if their costume is provided.
Popcorn Party!
The week following our program, we will be having a popcorn party in the music room and watch our performance on the SmartBoard. This is a great opportunity to reflect on our performance. If your student cannot have popcorn, please have them bring in a snack to enjoy while we watch our performance.
Practice the Songs!
