Principal Pattiey's Post

Dear Sierra Hills Families,

Thank you to all of our families who worked so hard to participate in parent-teacher conferences last week. We know that making time can mean rearranging work schedules, coordinating childcare, and juggling busy days. Your partnership matters, and we appreciate the opportunity to celebrate your children’s growth and plan together for their continued success.

Our wonderful Wellness Liaison, Shae Wall Denzler, shared the “31 Days of Gratitude This October” calendar featured in this newsletter. It offers a simple invitation to pause each day and notice something good. Try sharing a question at dinner,, on the drive home, or before bedtime: What made you smile today? Who are you thankful to have in your life? These little conversations give children—and adults—a chance to appreciate the kindness, comfort, and joy around us.

I have plenty to be grateful for right here at Sierra Hills, including our wonderful PTC! This busy week brings the PTC meeting on Thursday, October 8, at 2:30 p.m. in Classroom 1, Friday Coffee on October 9, and Outdoor Movie Night on Saturday, October 10. Movie Night is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the movie beginning around 7 p.m. Bring your blankets or chairs, enjoy the concessions, and visit the Owl-oween Boo-tique for a free costume!

With candy donations and volunteer sign-ups also underway for the October 24 Fall Carnival, there are many ways to join in. My heartfelt thanks to our PTC, volunteers, and community supporters for all the time and care they give to creating these wonderful experiences for our children and families.

It takes a village, and I am grateful for ours.

Fall is officially here at Sierra Hills! Look for a flyer in your child's walk-home folder about the PTC's Owl-oween Boo-tique Costume Swap, and keep an eye out for the bright orange posters around campus. It's a free way to pass along costumes your kids have outgrown and pick up a "new" one. Donations open October 1 at the school office or Wellness Center.
